Were talking 260 at start of play. SL were on course for 320-330 but Eng pegged them back a bit.

I'll be happy for -300 and reckon we'll be in the game.

Mendis in because there is no turn in the wicket and he;s a more stump to stump bowler........or so the experts have been saying.

Which isn't necessarily a problem if they were going to pick Moeen-Prior-Stokes as the 6-7-8

Sub in whoever you want as the third seamer for Woakes; just chucked him in there because I cbf thinking about who to pick and I like him.

Will need Broad and Anderson to pick up 18 wickets between them

That was a gorgeous strike.

It's hard to judge what kind of score suits this pitch considering the strange nature of Sri Lanka's innings but I don't think this team is likely to chase around 300.

Mendis generally hasn't done that well against England because he is oddly similar to the dobber medium pacer who take poles early on in the year every season (Will Gidman) in that he just drifts it either way at about mid 60s. So our batsmen aren't totally baffled by him unlike every other slightly unorthodox spinner they face.

Yeah I'm not saying we'll chase them, could just as well have a Durhamesq **** up. But the wicket looks to me like 300 "should" be gettable.

Put it this way, I can hardly keep my eyes open and I've run out of beers, but 300 has got me interested enough to stay up.

This actually a pretty frustrating series so far for fans of both sides and especially neutrals. While technically a close series in terms results, these blow outs aren't that fun to watch.
