Pollard as a 6th bowling option is definitely on. Allen's batting is improving as well as his bowling...positives on both fronts.

I feel like the West Indies management/thinktank is preparing Hetmyer for red ball cricket only. Once skills are honed in that arena, then he can transition back into the white ball setup.
I feel like he would be a huge miss for the ODI setup if that's the case - Hope, Lewis, Hetmyer, Pooran, Pollard make a solid 5 of top 6 - would like him to at least get a year before CWC in late 2023 batting in ODI side.

I always feel with Allen a bit iffy if he is playing as a 6th batsman rather than a 7th batsman. Holder can bat in fairness so not quite as bad if Holder is playing but think the limited overs bowling is still up in the air - didn't get to see much of the game, what was your thought on the bowling? Good bowling in it's own right or making the most of a SL side not at their best currently - saw some decently directed short balls either side of the rain delay but the dismissals also seemed a bit soft.

Fine achievement for Pollard 6 6s in an over against a guy who took a Hattrick shows yet again why T20 is the pinnacle of our sport now

a young kid growing up today do you think he would dream of playing a Test Match or playing for an IPL franchise? Ideally you want to be able to do both but if they had to focus on one area of the game I think the mindset has shifted now and T20 is now the pinnacle of our sport and it’s the vehicle cricket has to making its product truly global.

The Hetmyer issue we'll have to look at closely. It's a mindset thing that management getting him into.

Holder over Allen as a 6th batsman is fair game. Holder can be lethal in the death overs with the bat.

I didn't get to see much of the game yesterday. But from reading commentary, it looked like it was a disciplined bowling effort. Obed was excellent with his variations.

Best I've seen is bowl for ages in T20 tbh. There was a plan and for the most part they executed.

If that dropped catch of Holder was taken, then it would have been pretty close.

After the no-show of the batsmen, Dhanajaya and Hasaranga managed to make a match out of it. That means we have hope in our bowling. SL were always doing well when we had bowlers. Once upon a time we had Murali, Vaas, Malinga, Mendis and Jayasuriya forming the attack, who were #2, #7, #19 and #23 in ESPN best ODI bowler rankings. Sadly we lack that firepower now.

The formula is very simple for SL. Whatever we make, West Indies have batsmen to make it. So bat out of the skins and put 160-170 on the board. Then other bowlers bowl tight, and hope Hasaranga and Dhananjaya to blow away the top order. Even then, WI lower order can thwak it. Doesn't look good for us. My prediction 3 - 0 for West Indies.

I think we still need to look at this attack. I don't think Sinclair turns the ball enough to succeed at international level.

He can be economical in our domestic cricket by firing it in with the new ball, but that won't cut it here.

Hasaranga's googly is so awesome

Great to see Nissanka get a game, even if it is the wrong format

Why TF is Pollard. hiding himself and Allen down the order? FFS it's not 2014 bravo is barely useless with the bat.
