*Official* Sri Lanka’s Tour of the West Indies-2021- All Format

International Regular
What's up with Oshane Thomas these days? I think guy had good enough potential to succeed at Test level. Surely he is better than Gabriel or Joseph. Even Miguel Cummins wasn't too bad.
Cummins was awful in tests and not great in any fc cricket he's played. Thomas can barely get through an odi let alone a test match

This really is building up to being a fantastically competitive Test match. SL cake back really well today, the partnership between Thirimanne and Fernando was putting them in the control.

Then Mayers came in and WI are probably fractionally ahead again now. This does look comfortable to bat on but SL can’t gift their wickets away as is their way. A lead of 87 now, maybe 130/140 by close, as I type Roach goes straight through Thirimanne, WI definitely ending ahead.

Big innings for SL’s latest top domestic performer Pathum Nissanka.

Issue that Sri Lanka have is they don't have much batting left. If Lakmal is your number 8, you’ve problems. That leggie that debuted in South Africa looked handy with the bat.

Yes this partnership and then the contribution of Dickwella are huge, need to find plenty more runs yet.

A good days test cricket, well played Sri Lanka! Our bowlers are having to work very hard Indeed. Evenly poised at this stage.

I think Shannon and Alzarri have really let the side down in this match. All the other bowlers have done pretty well.

Old Lakmal continues his fine run. Some career turnaround by him, averages 23.56 since start of 2018. Considering he averaged 45 before that in 42 matches it is a hell of an improvement.

was this something to be expected in your opinion? Especially Gabriel has a pretty good body of work behind him

Sri Lanka’s day it was. They cleaned up the tail of the Windies in quick time this morning and then went on to bat all day as coach Mickey Arthur alluded to.

Two good partnerships saw them having a lead of Lara and Kusal Janith Perera...

I felt that it was the dropped catch of BOP that tipped the game/day into SL's favor. We could have been batting at the close of play.
SL's batting though is one to admire...the sparks of greatness are slowly building.
