Has Dane Piedt slipped below Prenelan Subrayen as the best off-spinner in SA now ?

Subrayen top wicket-taker in 4-day comp and always been a decent limited over spinner. Just in case they want balance down the line. We going to India now with 3 slow-left-armers.

Also good to see Jason Smith back in the Cobras team yesterday and Dayyaan Galiem for the Titans today.

I don't think Piedt has a hope any more really, but I wonder if Subrayen really has the batting quality to be picked based on what I've seen of his bowling. Piedt at his best was a really good bowler, is Subrayen capable of that quality?

Surprised got dropped in first place?

Subrayen has struggled to string dominant performances together with big-wicket hauls but I've always looked at him more as a limited overs spinner. In the current squad you probably looking at Keshav's position as a number 8 batsman. But yes, I don't think he will be getting into the SA team at the moment. Since his action issues they do seem to have black-marked him too.

I would say Bjorn Fortuin is in a similar position.

Unfortunately , that is how our system goes.

Prince saying before yesterday's loss to the Knights that only Zubayr and Jono were hitting the ball sweetly and he wanted others to come to the party.

Not picking Markram on any long term basis for a SA squad would be one of the biggest travesties in SA cricket. Boucher knows him as well. See what the SA A and WI tour squads look like.

Such a tough call what will immediately happen with him and selection but we all know he is good enough to get another chance. Wonder if he can get a county stint ?

Hopefully him and Mulder can get that.

How weird has Theunis de Bruyn's season been ? Hardly played any cricket after being left out the Spartans team in the MSL.

The problem is he's been very good at County Level even while he was struggling for SA.

Not sure how much a good County run will help his SA game - I think it's a lot more down to the mentality at Test level.

Definitely. Still think he has a bit to learn though on soft seamers for a future test tour to SA for example. Those hard handed punches of his are exquisite when he times it but easily can nick it or get caught cover. Will need to adapt more for me.

But just think he is too good not be playing a good amount of cricket in our winter and still think he can continue to grow his game even he won't be able to work on a few issues v spin in County cricket.

Grant Roelofsen... hands down best I’ve seen...in all formats!!! He is an absolute GUN

Matthew Breetzke. When he gets it right. Oh boy. Output is what matters most for sure but when he gets that right I could sit and watch his stroke-play all day. I am a sucker for aesthetics. Entertainment aspect.

Just in these last 3 games he has got going and get himself run out in the last 2.

Game v Lions at the Wanderers.

Matthew Breetzke has belted 3 phenomenal straight 6s off the fast bowlers but now Aya Myoli bowls him for 31 with a superb delivery - back-of-a-length & nipping back to beat a defensive stroke, clipped the bails. Warriors 61-3 after 10 overs

Every now and again, Mat Breetzke takes out his frustration about not piercing the inner ring fielders, by smashing a ball over the top of them. Good to watch. #MODC

Myoli wins a very entertaining little battle with Breetzke, who'd smashed him for 6 and then hooked for 4. The bowler then slants one back into the right hander and the ball clips the top of off stump. Breetzke made 31. Warriors 60/3
Yesterday's game.

While Breetzke teed off in the eighth over bowled by Prenelan Subrayen hitting consecutive sixes in the over, the second a glorious straight drive back over the bowlers head into the stands.

The boy genius is maturing by controlling his bristling aggression! Finally a hundred after six 50s and a few give-aways this season. Well done Marques Ackerman.

Man that's so Brendan Taylor.
:D I see it. Particularly that leg-side flick and pull off the leg-break bowler.

Marques Ackerman is very Travis Head in my opinion. Maybe not all strokes but short, left-handed ,aggressive style (loves off side) and penchant for making limited overs 50s in FC cricket lol
