Heinrich Klassen looks to be mighty effective. Unfortunately he might end up like Nic Pothas.
Depends if QDK stays wk in the long run.... if he moves into the top 4 of the test team, Klaasens should have a good shot in 2/3 years time?

Pity Birch can't play as well for the Warriors but Nortje really has the tools if he can work with some knowledgeable coaches.

Run in all day type.

Nice to see Olivier, Phehlukwayo and Morris all in the wickets getting game time.

Temba and Theunis could do with being released to !

Frylinck in place of whom? South Africa ODI Squad | Bangladesh in South Africa ODI Series, 2017/18 | Cricket Squads | ESPNcricinfo

I imagine Ngidi is coming in for Paterson. Would like space for Shamsi. Pretorius not in any bowling form, but making runs.

Might see Bavuma out for Markram, though he did little wrong... Think he was in the squad more because it was Bangladesh.
Frylinck for Pretorius easily. The only concern would be Frylinck's size though.

Pretorius is weak technically as a batsman and the higher the level he goes he will be found out. Pace or spin.

SA NATIONAL ACADEMY IN-TAKE FOR 2018

The women’s programme will start on May 21 and the men’s programme the following day. Both programmes will run until July 27. Thereafter the SA Emerging Men’s squad will be named for the tour of Sri Lanka in August which will consist of three four-day matches and three one-day matches.

“The Powerade National Academy Programme forms a very strategic part of our developmental pipeline,” commented CSA General Manager: Cricket, Corrie van Zyl, “and has as its aim to prepare young players for the demands of professional cricket. These selected players that are carefully identified include previous graduates of the SA U/19 programme, performing Senior Provincial and emerging Franchise players.

“This past year saw a highly successful SA Emerging Squad away series against Zimbabwe A and it has been highly encouraging to see the manner in which a number of them have gone on to the next level of making their franchise squads.

“In addition, two members of the Powerade National Academy intake last year – Lungi Ngidi and Wiaan Mulder – went on to represent the Standard Bank Proteas. Ngidi is currently making his Test debut against India.

This year’s men’s intake includes several members of the Coca-Cola SA under-19 side currently playing at the ICC under-19 World Cup in New Zealand – captain Raynard van Tonder, Matthew Breetzke and Jiveshan Pillay – as well as several others who have previously represented South Africa at this level.

Couple of things from the Cobras camp

Prince’s Cobras will, though, be boosted by the return of Proteas Test batsman Temba Bavuma. Bavuma was left out of the Proteas’ starting line-up for the first two Tests against India and is not expected to play at the Wanderers next week, with the Proteas employing a four-seamer policy at the expense of the extra batsman.

In Prince’s case, the emergence of Linde as a genuine all-rounder has been a highlight for the Cobras this season. The 26-year-old is primarily a left-arm spinner with his 11 wickets at 24.90 placing him among the top wicket-takers at the Cobras, but it his batting that has developed immeasurably. Linde struck the winning runs on Friday to finish unbeaten on 39, which further emphasised his value to the Cobras.

Considering he has already struck his maiden franchise T20 half-century this season - batting at No 3 - and it is clear Linde is on an upward trajectory.

“When I arrived at the Cobras a couple of seasons ago as the batting consultant, I immediately recognised George’s capabilities with the bat.We have put in the hours with him and now it’s reaping the rewards. It really is fulfilling to watch him develop,” Prince said.

Wow, not even considering Bavuma next week at Wanderers ? Surprised by that!
Not sure I can believe it either. A 7-4 split is what I would want. It swings at the Wanderers all day but runs are on offer. Fabulous test wicket. I don't think we can get away with 6 batsmen there.

Unless they are looking at de Bruyn... but I think that is even more unlikely.

Jason Smith been dropped by the Cobras. I've wondered why Galiem wasn't getting as many chances. I think he has a way of getting runs that is more suitable to a higher level.

World Sports Betting Cape Cobras squad: JP Duminy (c), Temba Bavuma, Dayyaan Galiem, Simon Khomari, Rory Kleinveldt, George Linde, Pieter Malan, Aviwe Mgijima, Tshepo Moreki, Mthiwekhaya Nabe, Wayne Parnell, Dane Paterson, Kyle Verreynne, Lizaad Williams

Nice to see Williams back; has been conspicuously absent from this Momentum Cup...

Wasn't even playing for Boland and definitely didn't see him in the Cobras squad. Think he was last involved in that Zim warm up but didn't play much before that too. Odd.

Forgot to mention Levi got a little injury so misses out on Cobras squad above.

Other squads.

Junior Dala out with a groin strain and Heino Kuhn nearly back from 'back spasms' and they have missed him at the top of the order.

Multiply Titans squad to face the bizhub Highveld Lions (from) – Tony de Zorzi, Rivaldo Moonsamy, Heinrich Klaasen, Farhaan Behardien, Albie Morkel, Chris Morris, Shaun von Berg, Malusi Siboto, Tabraiz Shamsi, Alfred Mothoa, Andrea Agathagelou, Corbin Bosch, David Wiese.

The usual 14 Highveld Lions squad. I see left-arm fast bowler Nandre Burger is in the SA Academy squad. Wonder if we may see him if they out of the running.

bizhub Highveld Lions squad: Stephen Cook (capt), Reeza Hendricks, Omphile Ramela, Rassie van der Dussen, Wiaan Mulder, Dwaine Pretorius, Ryan Rickelton, Mangaliso Mosehle, Bjorn Fortuin, Aaron Phangiso, Hardus Viljoen, Beuran Hendricks, Dominic Hendricks and Nicky van den Bergh

Knights having real issues trying to balance their squad. Much like the Cobras at times. Doesn't help that senior players de Lange and McLaren haven't been performing but they really need their skills and experience.Batting has been so reliant on Second and Miller with no de Bruyn. Also would have though Keegan Petersen would have kicked on a bit more but 4-day cricket does suit him more.

The VKB Landbou Knights squad selected for the Momentum 1-Day Cup match against the WSB Cape Cobras at PPC Newlands, Cape Town;

1. Ottneil Baartman
2. Mbulelo Budaza
3. Werner Coetsee
4. Marchant de Lange
5. Eddie Leie
6. Patrick Kruger
7. Grant Mokoena
8. David Miller
9. Duanne Olivier
10. Keegan Petersen
11. Diego Rosier
12. Rudi Second
13. Shadley van Schalkwyk
