***Official*** South Africa in Sri Lanka 2014

Sl would need to add atleast 100-150 runs before they declare - South Africans must look to delay this as much as possible. Stop attacking and instead bowl wide outside off stump lines. Make SL use up 40 overs at least before they get to this target - that would leave Saffers with batting out probably 100-110 overs which is not impossible.

bit of make-up time tomorrow plus the fact that the SL over-rate will be good tomorrow shouldn't mean that shower affects things too much, can't afford too many more stoppages though, need a good charge from Matthews until tea as well

Play can go on till 6 pm, almost no time will be lost if we don't get another interruption, can always make it up tomorrow as well, good news

Sanga out going for quick runs.. Had a 100 on offer though. SL only need another 50-75 to declare.

Another 50 runs should do it, but the ease with which we are scoring runs (despite a few wickets) is a bit of a concern, shows the pitch still isn't a difficult one to bat on, will need to make sure we have enough runs to make the chase difficult, and we'll have to bowl well too

At least you have some spinners.

Dickwella docked 10% of his match fee and reprimanded for claiming that catch off AB, a lot of people on cricinfo coming to his defence saying he probably didn't know it had bounced, gotta say, in this day and age you'd have to be a real fool for claiming a catch if you knew it had bounced with cameras everywhere.

Figure now that the lead is nearly 350 we may as well go beserk and try to push it up close to 400 as quickly as possible then get bowling

Guess play is then done for the day? Usually it is stumps in the SC when bad light stops play. A pity.

Pretty sure if it is stumps, SL is going to declare, and going to set up a fascinating day tomorrow. If weather permits. Have a feeling weather will intervene when SA are tottering at 170 odd with 7 wickets down.

Might still get on today, think the declaration probably ought to come now, weather will be a factor for the rest of the test and we need all the time we can get, can't see 340 being chased anyhow tbh

SA won't score anything over 320, declaration probably came about 2 overs later than I'd have liked but not too bad, brilliant batting from Sanga and Matthews, exactly what was required, good from Morkel too
