Satire would indicate that he had some modicum of respect for your opinion on the matter. Personally, I think it was more of a mocking tone than satirical. Then again, it could have been derision or dismissal or a ****-take, really.

Hmm, how do I get the feeling I've answered this before.
Selecting is concerned solely with victory. Hence, you pick the players who have been most effective, not neccesarily those who have deserved to be so.
Anyway, most people refuse to accept that people don't deserve what they've got next to their names in the scorebook.
