I believe Anderson will not be playing in the ODI or Test Units this time next year for NZ. He may still retain his T20 place but even that is questionable.
I believe he will be. These are his first games since the Windies tour. I understand he was instructed to miss the Carribean league to have a break.

He was one of the better performers in the narrow win over Scotland last week scoring 53, and taking 4/47.

In his pomp, Vettori was the best number 8 batsman in the world. It's great that he's back at last, but he can't be a passenger with the bat.
I agree. You still had hope when vettori walked in. That was just a weak way too get out he wanted to sweep but also did not want to commit 100%. I suppose some credit to tahir for making the nz'rs have a little doubt, but it still looked like a soft dismissal.

It's not panic time with plenty more games until the world cup but these defeats do focus the mind.

If we're going to win the World Cup then handling the seam attacks of sides like South Africa and Australia is probably the biggest challenge we have. We have some other strengths; 40 overs of our bowling will be good, we typically field well and our batting will have a powerful 5-7 and more hitting further down, but our top order must not auto-lose matches for us against the top sides with good seam attacks.

Williamson and Taylor will make a huge difference in that top 4, but the other two spots are problematic - numerous contenders but nothing concrete right now.

In tests. Never been much more than ok in ODI cricket with the bat.
Na keep in mind this is #8 we're talking about. In recent memory that puts him against Sammy, Johnson and Harby as the big #8 ODI run scorers.

He'll have been the best in the world a few times over the years.

NZ seem to suck hard against SA in non-World Cup matches.
tbf, NZ won the the last ODI series between the sides in South Africa in 2013. Williamson got 145 in one of the games. Grant Elliot & James Franklin also did well, but have slipped out of contention.

How often is the 10th wicket partnership the highest in the innings? And how often does a team have it as the highest partnership twice in a row?

New Zealand could revolutionise cricket strategy by writing the numbers 1 to 11 on pieces of paper, putting them in a hat, then each player picks a number at random and that is his place in the batting order.

Would wreak havoc on opposition bowling plans.

New 10th wicket partnership for NZ

And new number 11 high score record for NZ has equalled Pringle and Jeets 34*
