Tom Latham averages 10.77 against SA, and 26.56 against Australia.....but a remarkable 91.75 against Bangladesh.

Bit hmm atm.

A loss to Bangladesh, Jamieson lost his outswinger, Wagner down on zip and both Young and Conway are searching for the ball more than they were 12 months ago.

Coaching setup might need an injection of job risk.

One way SA could let NZ back into the match is with dropped catches.

And it was Nicholls, of course. He's 13/1 and iirc was 26/2 in the first test before he went on to a hundred.

Wagner’s 36 next month, I just think all those 90 minute spells are finally catching up to him. Jamieson though is really concerning. Southee’s mentioned previously that he’s stopped bothering with the inswinger because it affected his wrist position for the outswinger. Fear the same has happened here. Good thing KJ’s not going to the IPL. A few rounds of plunket shield and a couple months work on his action is desperately needed right now.

Looks a bit like he's tinkered with his action. Feel he's a bit more front on, the bowling arm isn't getting up as high as he gathers, and he's releasing from a bit lower. Probably as a result of too much work on the inswinger.
A shame that Heinrich Malan is going to Ireland as he seems to have played a key role in him developing into such a weapon.

With Jamieson it seems a bit like the common story of the young legspinner with a good legbreak, who then starts bowling the wrong'un and before you know it they've lost their legbreak.

Jamieson did seem to retain the ability to swing the ball in and still shape (moreso than swing) it away for a while, but now seems to be struggling with both. Also just general accuracy has been worse this match (from what I've seen) and pace down, which suggests a rhythm thing unless there's a niggle.

Which makes the test squad to tour England (+Ireland) interesting. They would normally only pick 5 seamers (the 4 from this test + Boult), but if we get to 2nd and 3rd tests in England with Wagner looking toothless and Jamieson out of rhythm, we might want a 6th backup quick in the squad who offers something different to Henry - perhaps Ferguson or Sears ?

Been saying its time for some real pace in the nz test attack. An actual point of difference.

Conway really hasn't looked comfortable out there at all today. Done well to battle through despite that though.
