Wow. Chris Morris looks awesome.

No wonder Saffa have been so good if he is the quality of the fringe.
I thought I remembered Morris playing a few years ago and being quite pedestrian. Looks really good here - 140, high arm action, seam movement.

I saw an interview with him the other day where he said he's worked a lot on his action, and I think he concentrated specifically on getting his release point higher.

Not sold on him in Tests but I think he's got the potential to be a great LO all-rounder for us.

Munro, Bruce, Anderson, CDG, Ronchi - so much hit and miss there.

Lol Munro. That was a miss.
I was very meh about the Taylor non -selection. T20, give every one a go I say. Spread those match fees through the domestics.

But now I've seen the batting order ...... this team has only 2 batsmen in it. And 1 of those 2 is a virtual rookie, who no j e knows yet if he more than a Pukekura Chipper.

Wow, Hesson and Larsen.

I wasn't expecting anything special. But I think I was expecting Ryan McLaten.

He looks like he'd have the tools for test cricket.

I'm not ooohing and aaahing over him because of his yorkers and slower balls.

It's his height, pace, swing (both ways). This is fine conventional
bowling.

Michael Clarke said Munro could ill afford such an exaggerated bat-lift against Starc early in his innings. Same argument today.

Is there any disagreement on Guptill being NZ's best bat in both white-ball forms now?

Is Guptill your Tahir? Excellent in white ball stuff, awful in red ball?

This side is woeful without Guptill, only going to get worse in the ODI's.

Rabada isn't even playing in this match and we're still getting slaughtered

NZ always seem to get pumped by SA in bilaterals.

Tahir seems to have mastered LOI bowling.. picks up 3 and 4 fers in every game. Who does he play for in the IPL?

Too bad for NZ Southee is also using up his quota of runs for the next 6 months in this hopeless situation..

Anyway, not that I care too much but this NZ T20 side is rubbish, perhaps not surprising when so many of the players have played just a handful of games.

On trial - Phillips, Munro, Bruce, De Grandhomme, Santner, Wheeler
Been around, not performing (in this format) - Southee, Anderson, Ronchi
Good - Williamson, Boult

Can't build a side from fresh icing and stale cake.

If only Grant Elliott was that obliging.

Agree that he looks more limited over, than test.... but his numbers suggest he is better in the longer game.
