It gets harder to dislodge set batsmen as the ball gets older. It's interesting that South Africa's lower order has been able to wag so much. Is it a case of South Africa's top order being so bad or have India tended to take the foot off the gas?
It would help if India weren't so bloody good. Shed that excess baggage, adopt the maximum-of-one-good-batsman strategy of every other team and watch the close results roll in.Sincerely hope this is just a passing phase and not a backslide Into zimbok level status from the saffers. Game can't afford another team just dying out and falling into a decline they can't get out of.
Slight overreaction, lol.Sincerely hope this is just a passing phase and not a backslide Into zimbok level status from the saffers. Game can't afford another team just dying out and falling into a decline they can't get out of.
Not nearly as much as a strong IndiaDoes cricket need a strong South Africa?
While I agree on the whole, this group of Indian bowlers is considerably better than any group Kallis faced - if not individually, then at least the way they hunt in packs. What bothers me is a complete lack of dot balls from SA Batman. I mean whenever I see the SA scorecard, it was either 10-2 or 32-3. I see no defensive tactics from openers- middle order trying blunt the shine from the new ball, making it easier to score later.
Remember those old days where Kallis used to play at SR of 30-40s completely grinding out the Indian bowlers and SA won the series.
