Game's ours if we add another 100. Its already ours considering SA's morale but a 400+ target should shut them off completely psychologically.

Morne really has been superb this tour, would have thought he would struggle without Steyn and Weaklander.

A bit weird saying that about a guy in his 30's with nearly 70 Tests.

It's so lovely watching a bowler who's in good rhythm. The action feels so smooth and effortless. Morkel bowling really well, looks in complete control and very dangerous.

Yea excellent partnership this. Bat smart. Bat slow. Grind the bowlers into dust.

Would love to see these two convert these starts into substantial scores. Then declare sometime tomorrow and let the bowlers clean things up.

Gave him out when he had not edged the ball plus it was a no ball. Kohli gave the umpire an ocular barrage. Thankfully good guy Rahane asked the umpire to check for the no ball.
Silly me as I thought that no DRS = no DRS and checking for no-balls = DRS

Yep was terrible umpiring. First the decision to give him out was wrong because he did not edge it. Then he did not spot the no ball. Seemed to be swayed by Kohli's staring and Rahane asking him to check for the no ball. Atrocious. Semi redeemed himself with a peak Simon Taufel level decision later though.

Finally, a 'proper'(apparently) day of test cricket. Fast bowlers played watchfully, feasting on tired bowlers in the final session, etc and look what happened to the tour thread, almost everyone got bored and stopped posting.

Wonderful to see the batsmen showing the ruthlessness required to completely shut the opposition out of the match instead of going muhintent.

I loved it but there are only so many times I can post 'Rahane WAG' and 'Morkel bowling beautifully'.

Gem of an innings from Kohli too. He needed to produce a knock like this. Patient, determined, dogged. Excellent stuff.

This. Loved watching today's play but only so much you can say about it.
