***Official*** South Africa in India 2015

Amazingly terrible from SA, literally a stat padding feast at home for Jadeja.

Happy Abbott got his five for though, need him in the team more often over that weakling Philander.

India at least got themselves to 200 in most (all?) innings. This has been pathetic from South Africa.
India haven't really had a big batting innings though. 3rd innings Trent Bridge, 2nd innings at Edgbaston and 1st innings at the Oval were abysmal from India in the field in 2011.

Probably true for all bowling attacks..
Yup, but not something that has been true for an Indian bowling attack in a while. I think this is the first time in a long while I actually feel that this bowling attack has it in them to bowl a side out for >200. Ishant has come leaps and bounds, Yadav is so dangerous when he gets his radar right, and Ashwin and Jaddu are better than they ever been.

Even when we were tearing through Australia 4-0 I never felt the attack as a whole was dangerous; it was just the spinners bowling to clueless batsmen. During the rise to number 1 we relied heavily on Zak and hoped the others would not be too terrible, with the odd match-winning spell thrown in. And during all the overseas tours the spinners just didn't seem to know how to bowl on those surfaces, and the quicks would inevitably get tired and become crap halfway through.

It's nice to actually support a genuinely potent bowling attack for a change :)

Let's not get carried away here. This same attack will look far less potent once we start touring away from the SC again. Doesn't take away from how well they've bowled here though.

Oz at least had the odd bright spot but this is just atrocious
South Africa have consistently taken 20 wickets in this series, something Australia never achieved in that 2014 series.
South Africa have also consistently gotten bowled out for under 150, once again something Australia never achieved in the 2014 series.

Make of that what you will

Really hope not. Ashwin and Ishant both looked the part in Australia. Jadeja is bowling better than he ever has in Tests, and I mean that in terms of control and revs he's getting on the ball. Mishra has been good since SL. Hopefully with more overs under the belt Yadav can find some degree of consistency too. And there are still Bhuvi, Shami and Aaron on the fringes. Really, really hope we do better next set of overseas tours. Even during 8-0; the batting failed us more than the bowling did.

I think I heard Gavaskar trolling Manjrekar by saying that this is not a good pitch because there is still some movement off it. Not a 100% sure though.

Hahaha even in the post-game presentation, Manjrekar set him off on a pitch rant simply by asking him what he thought of SA's batting.

I rarely ever agree with Gavaskar and Shastri but I've been loving their rants this series. They're almost as annoyed as I am.

Yeah, Zak, Sreesanth, Ishant and Harbhajan "when they're all on song" were better than this.

Of course they'll all never simultaneously be on song when it matters though.

indiaholic is in a good mood. Almost every post I've made in this thread today has gotten a like from him.
You have no idea. I was afraid that this pitch will be similar to the one in Nagpur and I will end up arguing for 30 - 40 pages. This has been sooo good,
