Typical, a completely nuts end which I miss and then Ch4 go and put the highlights on at 00:50 when ever other day has been 7:30! GRRRRRRRRRR :!( :!( :!(

Channel Four will just be a long tail of woe until we can get a proper terrestrial broadcaster

IIRC the BBC never showed highlights when it broadcast live?

this has been a brave turnaround. particularly anderson, who has been dug into by the media in full detail. well done to him-and kirtley.

Kirtley has been impressive, I hope he's here to stay because he looks the real deal. With Johnson as backup the bowling attack is looking better. Anderson managed to grab 5 dispite never looking near his best in the 1st innings and has passed 20 Test wickets now at the average of 26, not quite so bad now! (Oh and Anderson finally got out, Test average a now top order esque 43! :))

I must hold my hands up and say my criticism of last week has made me look more than a little silly:

Hussain - great ton and crucial 30 today.
Stewart - good runs in the first innings, and a dropped catch which the written press have crucified him for, but had he been 10 yards further back in his normal position he'd have been nowhere near anyway.
Anderson - 7 so far, he's still not at his best, but the wickets can only breed confidence and from that wickets should come (5 more tomorrow would be nice)

At least I got Gough right though! ;)

I'm just sticking to what I said a couple of days ago -

"I doubt anyone would fancy scoring 150 to win on that pitch".

It's not an all-time classic match yet - but it's not got far to go.

I dont care what the "experts" think, as my opinions differ to theirs. I choose not to rate Simon Jones and Andrew Flintoff and along with Giles, and they do so that is their pergrataive.

I saw Kirtly bowl and I felt he bowled really well.

I'd pick Kirtley any day ahead of Harmison..because Kirtley seems to have both pace & accuracy.

Flintoff gets the high bounce so Harmison isn't as affective because batsmen get used to it after awhile.

agreed tim, kirtley before harmison. nomatter what everyone else thinks, harmison is still quite wayward.

Well the day has started & so far South Africa have survived 3 balls.

135 runs to win...England should really knock the last 5 wickets off.

Still all over, such a pity the pitch has had most of the say, but England have done well, particularly M.Butcher

Adams has been known to show resistence with the bat so if Boucher can hit away then S.A could go close..they just don't want to have Ntini in with more than 15 runs to go.

Adams is out...that was starting to look a little dangerous.

England should be able to wrap it up now..I don't think Ntini will last long.
