he's absolutely brilliant as a support bowler for steyn/philander/rabada because he is so relentless. he gives you so little, but being asked to lead the attack is another thing all together.

he'll go take a 10fr now.

With this movement we need to take at least 4 wickets this morning with this England batting line-up .... particularly considering we bowling well.

Tricky stuff first up this morning, Phillander would have been a handful this morning on this. These 2 needs to start rotating the strike a bit.

How do you rate his glove work? I Haven't really seen enough of him to judge but from the little I have he looks very tidy.
Very good, maybe struggles with Maharaj sometimes. He did a lot of work with Boucher early when getting into the international setup and he improved a great deal.

De Kock a very good keeper in my opinion, he will learn to keep against spin as any keeper not from sub-continent has to do. He's just such a great player, I see no holes in his game of real note. I do think there are areas you can attack him but he will punish sides so often.

De Kock will probably end up not getting properly rated as a wicketkeeper because he's a good bat. He's been excellent with the gloves this series imo.

Even when Morkel pitches it up it is still difficult for him to get LBW`s. But some of those outside the line prods, he does tend to get unlucky. Extra bounce normally gets more edges.
Not sure how many times this has to be repeated but beating an edge from back of a length is really nothing to do with luck. Good Test batters are not going to consistently nick stuff they aren't dragged forward to.

But even when he does bowl full/good lengths it seems to miss the bat a lot... I know his natural length is back-off, but this morning he has gone past the bat a number of times with full length.

Yeah, but whilst that may be 'unlucky' on a ball to ball basis over a long Test career it isn't luck is it? No one is unlucky for 77 Tests, not that he's had a bad career he is a good bowler but at some point he is who is average/SR says he is - much like Broad, Flintoff et al.

They've had a shedload of edges to ground and half chances today. Any runs they make today will be damn hard earned.

Oh I agree, particularly early career he did not pitch it up enough....

And wicket yes!

And that is the length to bowl consistently to get edges. To be frank I am almost happy with that contribution from Jennings as I don't rate him, Root may struggle early on in this conditions.
