Why do commentators call Amla's technique "textbook"? It's about as far away from textbook as it gets for a successful top order batsman with that ridiculous twirly backlift and half-forward press.

Think I heard this was the women's 4th WC win too, so presumably there's three other female England cricket captains that share the honour.

Not to mention a certain carrot-topped Durham batting allrounder.

Technically our league wins were as GB, so England, strictly speaking, have never won the 13 man code world title.

In fact our last winning captain was noted non-Englishman Clive Sullivan.
