Hmmm, AB knocks the bails off with his elbow there. I'm inclined to think this is a correct dismissal anyway, as his gloves follow over the stumps before the batsman is in, but......

Is this officially a correct dismissal?

Haven't got Sky+ so can't replay it, but what was Kieswetter doing? He did a 360 after Trott called before actually running, delay meant Kieswetter got ran out.

Trott's call all day long, Kieswetter's fault.

EDIT: Sky just showed replays of the same thing.

Haha was about to say Kieswetter is pretty crap in this situation because he doesn't seem to be able to knock singles around. Keeps going for pointless big shots. And then Trott runs him out.
Catch the ball in your gloves and take the bails off with your elbows! Thats not cricket?

Think the keeper can break the stumps up to his shoulder if he has the ball in his gloves.

Yeah just seen the replay and he doesn't help himself. No need to go for the run though imo.

Imagine a keeper diving to take a ball thrown in by a fielder, a yard of the sumps, and while taking it, making a mess of the stumps with his shoulder..... I'd feel robbed if I were the batsman.....

Not that I would ever be in a situation where a third umpire would check a video review...., but still.

Have to say the Kieswetter chance Petersen dropped is quite possibly the worst combined bit of cricket I've seen for ages: Petersen bowls a massive moon-ball; Kieswetter floats it back to the bowler at chest height; bowler grasses it.

Trott batting in the last ten overs is ugly too. Really doesn't have another gear, does he? Should be made to retire out after 40 overs.

Hilariously bad all round play there. You can see why people get frustrated with Samit, what was he doing? And does Trott think you can't get run out off a free hit? Trying our best to lose.

england played like this against australia and west indies earlier in the summer and yet somehow won those series also.

i really don't enjoy watching eng play ODI cricket. Spend my whole time swearing and thinking wtf are these idiots doing. but they win at the end of the day so what do i know.

Yeah I'm thinking that now.

Leave it to the bowlers shall we?

IMHO it all boils down to the simple fact that there is no need to find a 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th, or 5th) gear as long as the RRR does not get over 5 or 6. Maybe not what we would like to see in a chase, but it is the professional thing to do.

I can see the value of never ever speeding up the bating, if it is not needed. Actually, I like it if a batsman can control himself in that way. Personally, I would blindly go for a big SIX to win a match, if my team would have 3 or 4 wickets in hand. When you think of it, that's just taking a risk.

On the other hand, it annoys me like hell when batsmen refuse to up the tempo in the last few overs of a batting first innings when there are wickets to spare.

TBH, these two pitches haven't been great one-day pitches. Two fluent innings in the matches. Yet it's a product of our **** summer I suppose. Both grounds normally produce better games.

Just watching the highlights. Reckon there's another yard in Dernbach if he had his lugholes pinned back to reduce the drag. Biggest ears in cricket?

Looks chavvier every time I see him too.
