I'd be interested to know how much short stuff Bairstow copped in his ton against Australia A. Johnson lined him up with a ripping short one, but was that in a different innings?

Yeah Johnson lidded him in the first innings of that game I believe, where he was caught behind off Lyon for single figures; Johnson took 4fa. No doubt he would've tried to pepper him in the second dig as well though and Johnson got absolutely slaughtered.

Such a bad shot from Bell there. He middled it in the end (and still got none) but why leave all day and then chase that?

Better shot second time around as I type.

Early days but I reckon Bairstow is a better player than Taylor
I like both, think they will both have long careers. Also think too much was made of Bairstow and short deliveries, he just got a couple of absolute snorters early in a couple of innings.

Good job WW isn't here or he'd be telling us the Windies attack is better than the SA one as they got Bairstow so cheaply all the time.

Reckon Tahir's going to go after this series. Lets up pressure on his end way too easily on surfaces where it's not doing much.

Well done JB, really top innings for himself and the team. Proved me wrong too, now carry on proving me wrong.:)

Gets wickets cheaper than everyone but Kallis, KP, Morkel and Steyn tbf, 3x more effective than swann

Re: tahir obviously.

IIRC Jonny was done in by Roach all times. I rate Roach quite highly! So far, my defense of WW :) .

Anyway, against the Windies, Bairstow never played under any sort of pressure. Coming in at 6 while trailing 250 against Steyn & co is really the real deal. And he has handled it quite well. Not a chanceless innings, but nevertheless impressive!

I guess there is not too much in it for him today. I wonder why Kallis has been thrown the ball to a few more times.

Well played Bell, another 50.

Time to push the run rate up a bit methinks - 37 per 100 balls is a bit on the slow side.

There wasn't much for Swann but he got 2-63 in 24 overs, respectable figures and had control. Tahir is going at nearly 4 an over.

Well batted Bell, apart from that UAE tour he has been immense for nearly 3 years.
