Once again Bell proves that he is just not good enough. When he hit that flashy six against Tahir seemingly an aeon ago I said to myself "I've seen this movie before. Bell 'announces himself' and 'makes a strong statement of intent' to the opposition. Now, not only will he go on to fail to build on his start, and show that he hasn't a clue how to go about making runs under the gun against a strong attack, but he'll rob the team of confidence and momentum by going into his shell for the next forty minutes, persuading himself that scoring runs on this track is impossible, and then getting out playing a stupid shot due to self-induced 'scoreboard pressure'". It's all so bloody predictable.
It's sad that some truly delusional people on this forum rate this guy as "world class", "as good as Amla", "the best in the world over the past eighteen months, tbf", etc. And it can't be Olympics fever, as the hysterical overselling of this guy's abilities was happening long before the facilities in East London had even been completed.
As things stand I can categorically tell you that the new guy Taylor will score more runs at a higher average than Bell in the remaining innings of this tour. Hell, if Rob Key had been given the opportunities which Bell has had, he'd probably have done a lot better for his country too.
