I agree with you on Zahid. He looked very very good to me on the AUS tour in 1997 and he had a very good pace at that time. But since then 6 yrs have gone and i very much doubt that he can recover that pace as he maybe around 28 now and still struggles with injuries . Where as Gul looks as a very good bowler to me. But one thing i noticed that he and the pacer who bowled in the middle are bowling at the same pace. But Gul is being classified as Fast Medium and that bowler who bowled in the middle as a Right Arm Medium:rolleyes:yohanna said:Well i haven't seen the matches but i had high hopes from Gul, he is suppose to be the best upcomming pacer from Pak .I saw him in junior world cup and he looked good to me.
As for Zahid, there are reports abouut him which suggest that he's still haven't recovered from injuries, as such i think others should be given a chance rather than sticking with an injury prone pacer.

Yes I agree. I was just making a point that I think that Zahid is a good prospect and could well be a spear head in coming years. He has the pace and venom to become a good pace bowler. Gul on the other hand, while steady is not penetrative in nature. But then again, he's a line and length bowler, which is a considerable weapon on its own account. As for Zahid, there are reports abouut him which suggest that he's still haven't recovered from injuries, as such i think others should be given a chance rather than sticking with an injury prone pacer.
Akhtar is still Pakistan's strike bowler, and he's not an ageing senior. He will most definately be called back. I am not sure about Waqar or Wasim. And thats a shame really.I read a statement by Shoaib Akhter saying that it was a good move by PCB 2 give chance 2 new players.I'm not sure Akhter really meant that, the way new bowlers are delivering for Pakistan Akhter's and co own place in the team would be in danger
Yes, but they need someone to be able to come in and play when Shoaib can't be bothered to because he doesn't like the opposition or would prefer to earn money playing for pub teams (whilst too injured to play for his country)Gotchya said:

Or maybe its a warning 2 Shoaib that such behaviors won't be tolerated in futute, and if he doesn't pay heed then the likes of Guls and Sami would be prefered over Akhter!marc71178 said:Yes, but they need someone to be able to come in and play when Shoaib can't be bothered to because he doesn't like the opposition or would prefer to earn money playing for pub teams (whilst too injured to play for his country)
Saw him play for Kenilworth, seemed rather good. Haven't heard much of him since.marc71178 said:Good one Dougie - I've had a lot of time for him since he played for Kenilworth.
Yep... The two WC semi-finalists go out, and the Group Stage failure and lucky Super 6 qualifier reach the final.anilramavarma said:Zim 46-1 in 9 chasing SL's 193. Will it be a Pak-Zim final?

4/4 for Pakistan I reckon.
