Just so everyone knows, you can **** all over Bavuma's captaincy or batting or what have you all you like but if you start bringing his race into it with quota talk, instant light offensive. Not the time or the place and it's just beyond crass.
Just came here to say that it's the quota policies that are racist, not any comments or references to them. It's not about Bavuma or any other player specifically. It's the racist policies some people have a problem with.

Australia lost to the semi finalists and finalist SA and Ind in the first 2 games and have beaten SA only India left

Read the two posts that got people banned champ. Unless you too think that a guy averaging 45+ in ODIs and with a hundred every fifth game is nothing more than a "quota pick".

And holy **** what a garbage tier thing to make your only comment in the thread about. "Nothing matters more than the right to call Bavuma a quota pick because he had a bad game/tournament!"

I’d keep Bavuma as captain for now. This is a pretty good team to go forward in the short formats. Got t20 World Cup and champions trophy

He also suits the rest of the batting. Whoever replaces de Kock at the top of the order, whether it's Hendricks or someone else, will probably be a 'hitter' more than a worker of the ball and the SA middle order has plenty of fire power. Bavuma is exactly the kind of batsman you want to stabilise with those guys around

That ball was still hopping around and going past the edge a lot of balls also in their powerplay. Don’t think enough credits given to head and Warner in that stage.
Don’t think they batted all that well tbh. Neither of them left a ball. Could easily have nicked off early but cashed in

Pretty much what I was saying they scored at a quick rate but there was balls flying past the edge every over at the start but the openers didn’t think about going defensive at all. Australia were just more brave in their powerplay and set up the game better. The middle order played like a joke and made it way closer than it should of been

Bavuma has been like a mini England. Been their leading run-getter and in-form coming into the tournament but has been a weak link in the team ever since. He is a good player and should bounce back soon.

Didn’t Hussey basically twiddle his thumbs for the 07 WC because Oz barely ever lost five wickets
There are strong similarities between Hussey '07 and Sky '23. When Sky does get the chance for a bat, it's usually just a 3 over slog.

South Africa bat first against Australia in an inconsequential game next week for example and they’re not 4 down for 20, that’s the issue with their performance yesterday and why winning a semi was so important, irrespective of getting smashed in the final, they needed to get that monkey off their back. They didn’t have enough runs and still they had multiple chances to win and blew them.
Australia plays like that against India, they will also get smashed, but they know how to win and ultimately that’s all that matters.

Most sides are gonna struggle if starc and haze are getting the ball to hoop for that long and are bowling on a coin, WC semi or not
