Yeah fair enough, but then it raises even more questions about why you'd need Shardul in the squad!

Shardul when he was played (when Hardik was fit) was basically a safety net for the batting, even if it didn't really come up well for him as a bowler. Without Hardik there the management it was better to get specialists for batting and bowling vs keeping Shardul in.

Shardul looks so clueless in ODIs with the bat. I think he should focus on tests and try to become a good bowling all-rounder for India. Will get plenty of opportunities in SENA. Still needs to work on that accuracy though.
