Am the only one who considers Vaughan's ****ness to be over stated? When he's not in troll mode and actually talks cricket I find him good to listen to.

Not watching the telecast now ftr so I guess he's commentating aws?
Yeah he's been okay this summer (especially because it gives the box some much-needed variety). Massive troll usually though

EDIT: A single!

Been pretty impressed with the Aussies so far, btw, as expected, the Geelong weather is currently quite similar to Adelaide, on and off rain with high winds, it is expected to clear up over the next few days though

Seems like a reasonably smart bloke in that he knows how to wind people up and also how to discuss a range of topics with a degree of intelligence

Then again, maybe it's just a case of everyone being Einstein compared to Healy

Never seen a side complain about the ball as much as this side. Seems to happen every single Test match.

Nasser showing that Watson intecepting the spinners much further down the track than Rogers.

The fact Watson is a massive front foot plodder apparently has nowt to do with it.

I only raise this because Nasser spoke of how all the best players of spin are quick on their feet, "be it Brian Lara, Michael Clarke or, right here, Shane Watson".

Obviously not in the best touch, so pretty important he made runs on this deck. Keep going Ron.

Yeah, I'm not his biggest fan and don't think he's a medium to long term solution, but Rogers at least is a pro and tries to grind out tough runs. If he hangs around in the side long enough for some of the younger blokes coming through to develop that skill over a couple of seasons, he'll have made a decent contribution.

Having said that, I would hate to see him playing in India. FMD it would be hideous, albeit brief.

I'm not too sure Rogers will be required after the SA tour in Feb/March, we have a tour to the UAE and then India at home then the WC after that and I'd have thought his career would be all but over by then.

You'd think so, but if he scores a couple of tons in an Ashes winning side, I can see him getting a bit of selectorial leeway.

In other news, a howling gale has blown in where I am, slightly east of the ground. Looks like rain too.

This feels like an old fashioned day of Cricket so far today, really enjoying the platform set by these two.
