*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

North will hit back to back tons in Adelaide IMO, assuming he has enough time and Australia bat twice. He'll take a couple of wickets too. Backing him for a good but ultimately irrelevant performance in a drawn game that sees him hold his place for the rest of the series.

Yeah I can't see Adelaide being anything but a draw. Since McGrath/Warne retired the only game that got a result was 2008, whereas Brisbane was the first non-Adelaide draw in Australia since 2005.
No, India drew there in 2008. Sehwag got that 2nd innings 150+. If Sehwag gets big 2nd innings runs on day 5, you know the track is still pretty damn good for batting..

Seriously though, it was a super knock as we were in a bit of strife at that point.

Was talking about the New Zealand game. Knew the India game was drawn.

It's not good news for us if Adelaide is a draw...What if England then win one of the next three tests? Means we would have to win the remaining two to get back the Ashes, which, unless major changes to the line-up are made, I can't see happening. I think we need to win in Adelaide to win the Ashes.

Morgieb is saying that this was the first non-Adelaide draw in Australia since 2005. The match that India drew in 2008 was in Adelaide.

No, I was responding to the part where he said "Since McGrath/Warne retired the only game that got a result was 2008.." and thought about the Aus-India match, forgot about the Aus-NZ match later that year.

Oh, okay.

Andrew Hilditch has just called a press conference:

Marcus North is a seasoned multi faceted contributor, experienced in all conditions and a reliable team man - a steady hand on the tiller

Mitchell Johnson is one of the world’s leading fast bowlers, we’re gradually increasing his loading to ensure optimum performance in Adelaide

Xavier Doherty is a mature, busy cricketer who has earned his stripes. We were encouraged by his performance in Brisbane and he can only build on this promising start

On the attack generally; the bowling battery got plenty of miles in their legs and we’re looking to work with that solid base in Adelaide.

No team changes at this stage

If Australia were to drop Johnson, which bowlers in contention can bat at 8? They really shouldn't have dropped Hauritz.

Both Bollinger and Hauritz taking wickets today. Can't do their chances any harm. Surely there has to be a change. Only Siddle would be feeling confident at the moment.

Slightly disappointed to see no batting challenges, but at least there's pressure with the bowling.

You'd think with two days remaining in the shield game if Bollinger is going to play he might be pulled early. They certainly wouldn't want him possibly toiling in the 2nd innings if he is going to play on Friday.
