Shame we didn't pick four quicks to share the workloadYeah, overbowling a 39 year old with a bung thigh who's playing back-to-back tests.
What could possibly go wrong?

Our openers regularly put on decent stands these days. Doesn't matter with the next three playing like they are. This over's pretty much summing up what Curran brings to the side He could have had Sharma twice, but the over's gone for 16.
And inserting India is looking a worse decision with every passing moment.
There are times when he seems to get his decisions very wrong. And, so far, this is one of them.Is root not clueless as a captain. No wickets yet Curran bowling from wrong end and no wood after a wicket less hoyr
'Shape' makes me think of deliveries that have an actual shape to their trajectory. So swing that starts early and carries on past the batter, something that looks good on the hawkeye replay later. All swing is definitely not shape. Shape is generally used to describe a delivery that angles in and swings away to approximately.

They also put up a stat saying he averages 149 against right arm pace. They put up a stat that said Sharma averages 16 when the ball swings/seams in and 40ish when the seam is turned out.
Not sure what went wrong in that Curran over. He's been shaping it in appreciably.
U wot m8?They also put up a stat saying he averages 149 against right arm pace.
Sorry SCC, missed it since it was in CC and not in the Ind-Eng subforum. It's been shifted now and hopefully will be merged soon and the OP here should be the OP in the merged oneAh, this was the first official thread made and it’s not getting much love.
Is it because I’m not from either of the two countries playing each other?
Anyways, back to more rain in England…
It is a discussion about whether England could have gone with 2 spinners. Personally I would have gone 4 seamers plus Ali like England, so the balance of the attack I'm ok with. India aren't afraid to pack their side with spin, yet have gone with 4 seamers plus one spinner too - so it's very hard to argue against England going with 1 spinner in my opinion. I feel like considering Ali's domestic form, he had to be picked over Leach. Leach is a very good bowler though, I can understand if you wanted him. Picking Leach over Ali is a bit too kamikaze for me though without Stokes and Woakes.Leach should absolutely be in this XI. Moeen selection I don't personally mind and I'd have liked to seen England go with 3+2 (Anderson, Robinson and Wood plus the 2 spinners). And I don't think Leach would offer much worse with the bat with Curran tbh (possibly better in these circumstances). The man is really gritty and can both absorb pressure and bat time
Yes. I hate to sound like an idiot but no amount of data will make me believe that is true.U wot m8?
England doing a good job of proving my 'never bowl first unless absolutely necessary' rule before the weather turned all English.
