Cricket Web Blue vs Cricket Web Red
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - PDV Dome
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
Cricket Web Red continued to miss the experience of Dave Watt and Cricket Web Blue notched an easy 6-wicket win at PDV Dome. Two days after the Blues lost the first-class fixture against the same opposition, they put in a good allround performance to gain a measure of revenge.
The Blues bowled first and used the bouncy pitch well to unsettle the CW Red openers. Luff and Gray stuck in, however, but never gained any momentum to get their team off with urgency. The back-up attack of debutant Dunbar and Popat was particularly impressive in keeping the innings under check in the middle overs. The Reds performance hinged on the innings of Rob Dauth, and he obliged with 85 from 98 balls. But just when he looked good for a hundred, he was run out due a poor call by Sean Bennett. Bennett took some responsibility for his error and hit 18 from his next 15 balls to remain unbeaten on 30 and take CW Red to a competitive 240-7.
Early success then came for the Reds through the experienced David Kennett. He bowled a beautiful outswinging delivery to account for Sean Fuller before the allrounder had scored. But luck continued to favour the Blues as they recovered. West would have had Camps caught behind if not for a noball, and that proved the most crucial miss of the game. Camps followed up his FC ton with one of the one-day variety and led the charge to victory. Dinu DeSilva was as classy as ever in scoring 53 from 57 balls, but perished with 111 runs still required. Pete Young (24) then firmed up the chase somewhat, until he and Camps were out in quick succession. The latter lofted a Kennett slower ball to Bennett at long-off - a tired shot.
Kingsley Clapham would have made things more interesting had Dauth held a catch in the 43rd over, but Morris survived the scare and scored 10 not out to assist Alex Crampton to the goal. Crampton ended on an energetic 27 from 21 balls.

Cricket Web Colts vs Masters XI
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - Fardin Qayyumi CC
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
The newly-furnished Colts machine rolled on to another handsome victory over Masters XI. Fardin Qayyumi CC was more helpful for bowlers than typically anticipated, and the Colts used the conditions better than their more experienced opponents.
Asked to bat first the openers failed again, then Shane Bond got Chris Butler to glove to Ronchi before he had scored. At 25-3, Daniel Towns stepped into his favoured situation. And as he has several times this season already, he responded coolly under pressure. Mike Wilson was uncharacteristically reserved at the other end, taking the responsibility of a specialist batsman very seriously. The two put on 95 for the fourth wicket until Wilson tapped a soft catch back to Saqlain. Towns raised a solid 50 as the Colts ticked along, but was out immediately after, chopping a flat delivery from Warne onto his stumps.
Fjermestad and Pimpkins settled in for the final stretch and at the end of 40 oves, CW Colts had 152-5 on the board. Urgency required, Fjermestad declared himself settled and sprung into action. His first six was an ugly swiped that sailed over square leg and left Rankin bemused. The next two were far more impressive- first down the ground and then over cover. Rankin's 8th over cost 20 runs and it was his last of the innings. Fjermestad had less success against the other bowlers, but got to a maiden half-century from only 36 balls, then picked out Saqlain with an Odoyo slower ball. Weber got to work immediately with a six over midwicket, and Pimpkins hit Bond high and straight for another. In total the Colts scored 81 from the final 60 balls and reached a good total of 233-9.
The Colts passed their next test with flying colours too, using the advantageous conditions to take the early wickets of Ronchi (4) and Imran Farhat (13). Dunn got Benkenstein in his second over for 10, and Tarick Weber took over with an impressive spell of spin to account for the South Africa duo of Justin Kemp and Lance Klusener. The Masters XI struggled at 101-5 and Wright brought Pimpkins into the attack to force home the advantage. With his first ball he got Lara to edge to the lone slip fielder, Towns, and ended whatever threat the Masters XI posed. Pimpkins should have caught Warne in the next over to give Weber a third scalp, and then Wright should have caught him an over later. But both players combined to dismiss Odoyo later in the over and Weber snapped up Saqlain soon after.
With 8 wickets down the visitors showed their greatest fight, and Warne and Bond hit a six each off Ryan Dunn. The latter eventually ran out of luck and was taken comfortably by Weber at deep midwicket off the same bowler. All that was left then was to see if Warne would get 50. He shuffled across his stumps against Pimpkins, missed the ball and was out 8 short.
Cricket Web Colts Innings 233-9 (50 overs)
MW Wilson 71, YA Fjermestad 53, DP Towns 50
SE Bond/T Odoyo 3-39
Masters XI Innings 180 all out (43.2 overs)
SK Warne 42, BC Lara 41
A Pimpkins 3-26, TV Weber 3-36
Cricket Web Colts won by 53 runs.

Cricket Web Black vs Cricket Web Green
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - Pickford Reserve
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
The fortress that is Pickford Reserve hosted another landslide win by Cricket Web Black in their slightly favoured format. Cricket Web Green evidently had not recovered from the soul-crushing defeat of two days before and were dealt with by a margin of 6 wickets and with 14 overs spare.
A reshuffled batting lineup tried to compensate for the lack of Ben Read, but the powerful Black attack quickly snuffed out any spark of life that it showed. Kev Gough was typically potent with the fresh white ball and expectedly dismissed both openers in his first spell. The Greens showed positive intent against the lesser players in the attack, but they adjusted well to stunt any genuine progress. Martyn Corrin was the lone shining light, composed throughout his innings, but could not quite track down an elusive second career hundred. When 17 short of the milestone he did not get under a bold pull shot and was caught by Gelman running around from midwicket.
Bryce Cunningham briefly injected life into the home camp with 3 sixes and a four in his 8-ball stay, but he played one swipe too many and bottom-edged a ball from Smith to Chaulk behind the stumps. CW Green failed to make full use of their overs and were all out with 4.4 remaining and 225 on the board. That total was never likely to intimidate the powerful CW Black batting lineup. And though they started conservatively - 17 from 5 overs - the hosts did not meet any genuine challenge en route. In the 18th over Ethan McNamara strayed down the legside to surrender the 100th run - a wide - and the first wicket fell as late as the 26th over. James Stedman was bowled by Rose attempting a pull shot to a ball of full length. His replacement Cloete was almost caught 2 balls into his innings, but following his survival he leaned into Corrin. With creative footwork Cloete attacked the legspinner for 3 fours and a six in a 20-run over.
Cloete raced to 30 from 15 balls when he top-edged a cut shot and was caught at third man. At the other end Chaulk was in no such mood to give his hand away. His 50 cost 40 balls and then he settled in for a big innings. Alex Blackman played his usual attractive cameo before giving away his wicket, and Chaulk's fine knock was ended by Cunningham on 98. He kicked the dirt as he walked off, knowing that his hundred and the end was a corner away. Dan Smith scored 1 not out, his most confident one-day performance of the season, and CW Black ended the chase in the next over.
