Cricket Web Colts vs Masters XI

Scorecard
Ball by Ball
A painstakingly calm knock by Daniel Towns guided CW Colts to a comfortable win over Masters XI. Towns scored 41 from 83 balls and hit the winning run in the chase of 215 for victory. His slow pace was afforded by the more attractive batting of Griffen and Fjermestad earlier in the innings. With the ball Andy Pimpkins showed the way. He took 5 cheap wickets to engineer a Masters XI collapse from 121-2 to 214 all out.

CW Green rebounded from a disappointing bowling performance to register an impressive win over CW Red. Ben Read and Thamba Mamesh scored half-centuries, but it was up to the big hitting of Reddlapalli and Dubb-Lynch in the dying moments of the game, to seal the result. When the Reds batted, Jamee Gray struck form to show the way with 81 at the top. But it was the batting of John Heads at the end that truly forced the pace and pushed along to a good total of 269-6. Kennett and Raghav then started poorly with the ball, and the Greens capitalized and never looked back.
Cricket Web Red innings 269-6 (50 overs)
Gray 81, Robertson/Ritchie 52, Heads 38*
Raftery 2-39
Cricket Web Green innings 270-5 (48.5 overs)
Read 80, Mamesh 68, Raftery 41
West 2-47
Cricket Web Green won by 5 wickets.

Scorecard

CW Blue and CW Black gave warning of the rivalry that will be renewed in the coming season, going deep at the PDV Dome for a slim 4-run result. Andy Maina rocked the CW Black top order, before Ash Chaulk recovered and set the base for a total of 229 all out. Kev Gough then took his place on centre stage and was chiefly responsible for CW Blue slumping to 10-4 after 19 balls in the innings. Dinu DeSilva and Sam Morris then engaged in a rebuilding effort of 120. It was a platform that Pete Young launched from, but his 47 unbeaten fell just short of the goal.

Maina 3-44, Fuller 2-21
Cricket Web Blue innings 225-8 (50 overs)
