great win guys we all had to dig deep to get there, i think the only lack lusture thing there is when we rolled teh reds for such a short total we should have never let them back in and we should batted them out of the game wearly but hey a win is a win and well done bowlers and bats and fielders, good team effort.

Also, lots of rookies in the XI.
But that the other teams are missing key players prevents the rookie factor from being a big deal. Considering also that you, Tarick, Andrew, Anthony, Andy, Rob and Sajith are there, I don't see how the rookie factor comes into play. More than half the team is experienced and practically the entire batting lineup is experienced. Then the bowlers who got it done last time around were you, Andy and Tarick.

Mitchell and Bharanidharan have made solid contributions to the team mind you. Scott has as well.

Whatever it takes!!!
yay@ another win. Us Greens are on a roll. Glad with my 2 30s,esp. the second dig effort. TWo catches as well... yay. The strike rate is improving as well. I guess I am finally finding my feet here at the league. If only I can carry it over to the ODIs.

Finally joined the illustrious 500 club, must say while it's pleasing it also leaves a bitter taste with the end result of the game.

Highly commended to Garven, who showed he can actually use a bat for scoring runs, and not making home made videos.

Cricket Web Black vs Cricket Web Blue
at the PDV Dome

The Blues failed spectacularly to make use of quick and bouncy wicket, and Black emerged crushing victors by 136 runs. It was an entirely dominant performance by the Blacks, as they smacked 308 runs batting first, then knocked over the home side for 167 runs.

Simon Fitzsimmons stroked his maiden List-A ton, and could hardly control his ecstasy at the achievement. His was the mainstay of the impressive Black batting, but captain Alex Blackman added the flair with a half-century at more than a run-a-ball. Two wickets for Dinu DeSilva shook the innings slightly, but Darren Dubb-Lynch played the steadying role and ended unbeaten with a good knock.

Sean Fuller was belted for 15 runs off the second-to-last over, ruining an otherwise impressive day with the ball. Matt "Mikey" Smith claimed two wickets, but largely struggled on debut.
In their turn at the crease, the Blues succumbed to a different kind of drama. Harry Warwick fired out Cribb and Young in quick succession and the early losses hindered any potential Blue aggression. All the Black bowlers contributed in some form, and it took a very gutsy unbeaten half-century from Wilshere to lift the Blue total to respectability.

Cricket Web Black 308/7 (50 overs)
Cricket Web Blue 172 ao (35.2 overs)

Cricket Web Black won by 136 runs.
Man of the Match: SG Fitzsimmons
Just call me the Heath Davis of CW Blue - minus the extreme deviant behaviour.

Team Black rolls along
Cricket Web Red vs Cricket Web Black
at the Pickford Reserve

The Blacks rolled along merrily with another terrific team win over the Reds, as Ash Chaulk scored a ton to seal the comfortable result. Each Black bowler took a wicket, and only Rob Dauth's half-century stood out as the Reds could manage just 223 all out after electing to bat first on a slowish surface.

Making a mockery of the conditions, CW Black then proceeded to overhaul the total in the 38th over, with Simon Fitzsimmons setting the pace early on, then Chaulk taking over on his way to a brilliant ton.

Cricket Web Red 223 ao (49.2 overs)
Cricket Web Black 224/2 (37.4 overs)

Cricket Web Black won by 8 wickets.
Man of the Match: AP Chaulk

Devastated all over again...
Cricket Web Blue vs Cricket Web Colts
at Goffmouth Park

A woeful start to the season got no better for the Blues on their first OD trip to Goffmouth Park, as the Colts stunned the defending champions and successfully defended a total of 183. After batting first, the home side managed 182 in the face of some disciplined bowling from Blue and an especially impressive spell from debutant Clancroft.

Expectations were high after the Blues had limited their opponents in spotless batting conditions, but memories of the recent 5-day fixture quickly flooded back and they collapsed to 143 all out. Alex Crampton was the only batsman to truly stand up, tough Sean Fuller and Matt Currie also played small hands. McKern and Thomas shared 6 wickets, and Jack McNamara took 3, including the final wicket of Crampton for a well-played half-century.

Cricket Web Colts 182 ao (42.1 overs)
Cricket Web Blue 143 ao (35.1 overs)

Cricket Web Colts won by 39 runs.
Man of the Match: CD McKern

Very pleased to get another win and applause has to be given to Das for sticking out for a 60 on what I really really hope was a pitch impossible to bat on, because the amount of times teams are getting skittled these days is insane. I wonder if I'm the only one thinking this... I'm almost certain that last season such walkovers were a rarity.Liam, should this be seen as a concern or are these kind of games to be expected?

With that aside, I'm very happy with Das as well as all five bowlers, particularly the Mc's.
