I operate the Dev League on British time as a general rule. Hence the deadlines for submission pertain to British time.

Some people also have to choose the teams for the next games, and to see their players performed todays games might be helpful.

C'mon guys, so long as he's doing it on the day he said he'd do it, it's fine. If he always does it at the start of the day or always does it at the end of the day, there will still be 24 hours between games. He's taking time out to do it, so give him a break. :p

Cricket Web Black vs Cricket Web Red
at the SCG

Black finally got off the mark in Season 9, with an impressive chase of 268 for victory against CW Red. A 119-run partnership for the 4th wicket set the tone for a comfortable 4-wicket win. Alex Blackman and Simon Jones were in classic touch in scoring freely against the Red bowlers, barring Loganathan.

The Reds had earlier elected to bat first and got off to a fine start with a partnership of 85 for the first wicket. The Black seamers looked largely flat and Ian Markus and James Stedman struck lovely fifties. At the end though, it was Jamee Gray who continued to impress. He couldn't quite get his half-century, but ended unbeaten at a run-a-ball.

A total of 82 runs were scored in the last 10 overs for Red. The power for Black came at the start of the innings, however. The Red seamers found life difficult in conceding 97 in the first 15. The dashing start allowed CW Black to cruise along toward the victory target, getting there with 10 balls to spare.

CW Red 267/7 (50 overs)
CW Black 269/6 (48.2 overs)

Cricket Web Colts vs Cricket Web Blue
at the Bellerive Oval

The spin of David Comley helped turn the game the way of the CW Colts, as he claimed three crucial top order wickets . Blue stumbled from 84/0 to 187 all out after Comley's two quick wickets opened the gates for a steady tumble of wickets. CW Blue had earlier inserted the Colts in damp conditions.

Daniel Towns was once again in top form and added 135 for the first wicket with the patient Mamesh. Bowling for Blue, Adam Collins and Travis Demeza were outstanding in terms of economy, and the former accounted for Mamesh, whilst the latter held Towns short of a second consecutive OD hundred.

At the end of the innings, spirited cameos from Hancock and Brown were telling in the addition of 72 runs in the last 10 overs - 257/5.

Blue was off to a pleasant start chasing, despite facing up to some tidy bowling from debutant McKern and Gary Nayak first up. Cribb flicked Comley to Towns at short midwicket and suddenly the Colts took control of the game. Brown and McKern returned late in the innings to snare 3 wickets each and rush the end. Only skipper Sean Fuller crossed 50.

Come on Reds its really time to start getting over the line in these close matches. We are playing pretty well just not getting the points on the board. There was some nice knocks their from James, Sean, Ian and Jamee, well done boys.

Also well done to Thamba for getting your 1st List A fifty, well batted mate.

Hancock Down

After a bright start to his rookie season, Nick Hancock is down for the next 3 match days, when he damaged his right foot in the field in CW Colts game against CW Blue. Hancock didn't bowl in the match, though he did play an essential role with the bat at the end of the Colts innings.
