Commentary
Gary Nayak and Pooja Bharat guided the Colts home for the second time in as many matches, staging an unbroken stand of 51 runs in testing conditions. Both teams struggled to time the ball on a surface of variable pace, but Nayak and Bharat held their nerve to the final over the game, taking a single to seal the result with 3 balls to spare.
Daniel Towns had earlier set the platform for the chase. His 71 was paramount, if laboured off 133 balls. He was especially tested early on against the bowling of Hoy and Kexing Su, but admirably fought the new ball off to allow his teammates to take the game home.
The Blacks had won the toss and batted for a score of 208-8. The struggles to score on the surface were epitomized by opener Stedman, who took 70 balls to register 38 runs. The Colts used the conditions well, however, bowling with accuracy and variation. Kyle Wright, in particular, was effective. His 10 overs were rewarded with 4 for 35.

Commentary
Perhaps there was hope of a dramatic turnaround as Dave Watt and David Kennett fashioned a stand of 42 for the 10th wicket. That a score of 135-9 could reach the defendable heights of 177 is a promising start to revival. But for CW Red on this day, it was to be a fruitless recovery.
Paddy Gundry's 5-wicket haul destroyed the home side's batting appeal, then Rob Malone notched 89 unbeaten to mock the effort further in an 8-wicket win. That David Kearsley finished with the best of the Red bowling figures was further proof of Green's dominance in the match.
All but two Red batsmen reached double figures, but none but Rob Dauth (33) crossed 20. It was a disappointing showing in various aspects, only highlighted by the lack of penetration of the bowlers during the night-time session.
Cricket Web Red 177 all out (45.2 overs)
RJ Dauth 33, DM Kennett 19*; PG Gundry 5-41
Cricket Web Green 181-2 (38 overs)
RJ Malone 89*, RJ Garven 35; DA Kearsley 1-19
Cricket Web Green won by 8 wickets.
