So is the general consensus in rugby now that the northern hemisphere is (finally) where the best rugby is being played? NZ and Aus both losing series to touring sides, while SA barely scraping home against a Welsh team that finished 5th in the 6 Nations. Then all 4 Rugby Championship teams taking turns playing like dicks and dropping games into their opposition's laps. On current form, doesn't seem like it'd be a huge shock if none of them make the semi's at next year's world cup.
Only since SA joined the club rugby... on a serious note I still think that only Ireland, NZ or SA are likely to win the WC with France having an outside chance.

Just saw the game for the very first time on YouTube and can't agree more with the ref's decision at the end there.
He had to get something right!
But seriously to actually make that call in that position of the match is an enormous decision, he should have turned a blind eye for 2 more seconds.
At the end of the day the games not about him, but he made it so.

France are more than an outside chance, they're the favourites to win! Also England are the 3rd favs.
But yeah when it comes to world cups, NZ and SA are the 2 teams you can usually rely on to be thereabouts.
Ireland normally fold at world cups but there will come a day for them...

The time wasting thing is ridiculous unless implemented across the board and all the time

there was only going to be one more play regardless of when Foley kicked it out

Don't get too ahead of yourselves. One of tbe traditional try nations always cobbles together some cynical win now formula that gets them deep into World cups and Argentina are always a dark horse

The Wallabies are still crying over the milk that was spilt on Thursday night. Rugby Australia have sent a ''please explain'' to world rugby over the last
minute decision by lodging a formal complaint.
But seriously they need not bother, because other issues during the match totally went in their favour.
Apparently after a try was scored referee Raynal told Foley to wait with the conversion, but he didn't and the rest is history.
The kick should have been cancelled but it wasn't, and play went on, needless to say all camera angles clearly showed a forward pass in the lead up
to the try, so it was just more inadequate refereeing by the Frenchman.
If the Wallabies can't quickly forget about the incident, the game will be all over at Eden park before the ball is even kicked off.
With South Africa scoring 2 late tries to secure the bonus point, the rugby championship is still very much on the line.
Remarkably with 1 round to go, all 4 teams are still a mathematical chance to win, although the Pumas are a 5000/1 shot.

The ref lost his composure obviously

You can't say rules are rules but only apply them sparingly
it’s sort of inherent in any sport that relies on a discretionary call that rules will not get applied consistently, for better or for worse (btw it’s for worse absolutely)

If you want to make some stand on time wasting in Union - which, arguably, they should be doing - the ref should have been stricter on it already throughout the match.

To make a statement on time wasting in the final 45 seconds is both inconsistent and I’d dare say the wrong time to make a stand on it

Yeah I think the ref had a terrible match anyway

I’m predicting a blow out at Eden Park. Foley was incredibly weak in defense and I’m sure the ABs will be targeting that

All blacks will be tough to beat at their favourite cauldron Eden park.
Despite that I've jumped all over the Wallabies @8.4 because in a 2 horse race this is not the right price.
Australian TAB is offering 6.5 and for the poor mans price NZ TAB is 4.4 so shop in the right place.
