Honestly don't know how the Wallabies contrived to lose that; butchered three tries (although Elsom more blameless than Moore's horrible body position and Cooper's twattish forward pass) and Giteau's place kicking just horrible throughout. Huge choke with the final conversion.

Heroic defending from the Scots, but they were beaten up front and offered v little in attack.
We're ****, that's how we lost it.

Worst Australian international sporting team by quite some margin.

No shortage of irony in a forward pass being (rightly imo) called in rugby though.

You think I'm joking?

I guess it probably just hasn't clicked how stupid your suggestion was. It's kinda like watching a football match and saying "why are all the players allowed to stand in front of the kicker while he's trying to shoot from a free kick? Seems terribly unsporting..."
Yet, in cricket, it's all good. You're not allowed to block the stumps with your legs to stop bowlers from bowling you because it's unsporting and will be punished for it. Find the LBW rule the most bizarre sporting rule I've ever encountered.

HTFU, bowlers.

Haha, you're weird. Might as well not even bring a bat to the crease in that case if you want to bat the match out.

Only got around to watching the New Zealand v England match today, not much of an encounter to write home about thats for sure. Win's a win from a New Zealand point of view, and seven consecutive tests in Europe without conceeding a try is an enviable record, but it was still a rather uninspiring test match.

Shocked to hear about the Scotland vs Australia result, bet Deans is really feeling the pinch now if the Wallabies' performance in the Tri Nations didn't have him somewhat on edge.

IMO, it's not Deans' fault

His tactics and players are getting them 95% of the way - composure and final execution is killing them where it counts

Blame lies completely with the team

I wouldn't name either the "Wolrd XV", that's for sure.

EDIT: And don't think that I don't realise why you're after peoples thoughts on their World XV. Lewis Moody wouldn't be in either. :p
Yeah, World XV would probably be better :p In all honesty I'm only asking now as you'd think that all the players in the 2 best XVs would have been picked by now.

There's lies, damn lies & statistics, obv, but according to today's paper the Wallabies had 60% possession and 70% territorial advantage. Scotland also had to make 129 tackles to Australia's 64. Rouke's Drift time, really. Freakish result.

Wouldn't beat yourselves up about it; far more to be depressed about as an English rugby fan.

I don't think Deans is to blame for Australia's relative lack of success this season either, was just pointing out that he must be beginning to wonder where his side's at with their results this year which hes not been accustomed to in the past.

They don't have the players mate. End of story.

Makes you wonder why Sanzar awarded Melbourne the 15th Super Rugby franchise then if its so clear that Australia doesn't have the depth of players. ;)
Yeah it does. That and the fact no one will watch it.

Even guys like Matthew Burke have been saying the juniors aren't coming through in Rah Rah like they used to. My own view is that the code in this country relies too much on poncy private school boys who have their arses wiped for them and who are about as hard as a tub of butter left out on the bench on a 30 degree day.

That's not to say there aren't some decent players around or that everyone who plays rugby here comes from such a background. Rather, that particular part of society seems the dominant demographic in rugby, and it's biting us on the balls.

I'm enjoying the BBC website's single-handed crusade to make Jeremy Guscott look as much of a bell-end as possible.

He made a really good tackle towards the end, but I wouldn't say he "saved the game". For once.
