If Dravid comes good in England (hey, it has to happen one of these days!) our batting lineup will go from looking really good to awesome. Also will reduce the reliance on SRT and Laxman a bit. I am sure he will produce a crucial fighting knock or two somewhere in the series in tough batting conditions. Problem is, Dravid in the last couple of years will do all the hard work, get to 25(65) and then poke at one outside off-stump instead of destroying the soul of the fielding side with a big ton.

I can already see Anderson pitching up a perfect away swinger and Sehwag moving his left foot 10cm and smashing it to the boundary.
He'll hit four boundaries and get out on the fourth one. Anderson's outswingers are a different class from the usual stuff Sehwag dispatches. They tail in before going away late. I can see anderson squaring up sehwag badly as he will try to play onside only to find himself badly out of balance.

the indiav eng match in the world cup in the first over, the only over the ball swung, sehwag was beaten three times and anderson got the edge 3 times. Shewag was very luck that over. Then the sun came out and anderson's vampire abilities went away.

i hope, for the sake of a really close series, and for pure spectating pleasure, that sehwag comes good a couple of times - quick 60 70s or even a low 100 - or really good once - 150 plus! would be exhilarating...

regarding anderson: he bowls, when on song, more jaffas than any other bowler i have seen in years of watching cricket. however, sehwag has handled steyn quite easily and so could conceivably give anderson a pasting. but has been, what's the word u youngsters use, 'owned' by steyn at times....toss of the coin on this one.

Dravid was pretty poor in England last time around in 2007
Actually ,IIRC his decline/blip started from that series itself.

When he was made captain after the whole Ganguly - Chappell Fiasco. And became a opener for a period after that series.

If Dravid is going to come good somewhere ,it has to be England.

Has a very good record there.

And presuming the NO.6 will be Pujara ,i think he will be fine. Did Pretty well with India A there last year.
And Dhoni did very well there last time round and saved our asses .Also did decently well in SA.
I remember Dravid struggling when he was there last time round. I made those statements based on recent form anyways. Dhoni did well in SA but I still fear. Who were the bowlers for the Lions when India A toured England?

Pujara was the top scorer in both FC and list A matches by a margin.

In the FC matches India played West Indies A,Yorkshire and Scotland.

While in The Lista A matches India played The lions and West Indies A.
There were bowlers like Plunkett,Mahmood,Shahzad,Russell,Woakes.

I also see that, but then I see Jimmy follow that ball up, with a late moving in swinger and trapping him plumb in front.;)

Yes me too. When asked how he plays swing Sehwag said he whacks the ball out of shape until it doesn't swing no more. :) Also said that he attacks the bowler, who then spends his time trying to keep his economy down rather than attacking him. We will just have to set Tremlett and his 6'7 height on to Sehwag.

Hope Pujara gets his debut. I would rather he plays than Dravid.

Anderson v Sehwag
2 Tests 4.3 overs 32 runs 2 wickets at 16.00 econ 7.11 s/r 13.5

v Tendulkar
6 Tests 33.2 overs 96 runs 5 wickets at 19.2 econ 2.88 s/r 40.0

Meh, I too am more worried about Tremlett than Anderson when it comes to Sehwag. Anderson more dangerous for most others though, obviously.

Avatar bet anyone?

Sehwag to score 400+ runs in the whole series. My only condition is that he has to play all 4 test matches (not all innings).

1 month btw.
