They will pick 3 fast bowlers and Stokes, Leach. The six I mention will be in the squad.
I'd say for Australia Cummins, Hazelwood, Starc, Boland, Green, Neser with Lyon.

England won't worry about the long tail. 1-7 to get all the runs and hopefully we declare. :)
I find it hard to believe that they’re going to dump Morris after dragging him all around India

Neser won’t tour IMO

If Australia lose the series to a team with a bloke in it whose middle name is 'Cherrington', they should be sentenced to live the rest of their natural lives in England.

So you want to reward the Australian players failure by allowing them to live over here - seems a bit strange

All jokes aside, compared with Australia, living in the UK is genuinely a massive downgrade though. The only thing it really has going for it is it's a lot closer to a stack of better places in Europe, which is hardly an endorsement of the place itself.

If it was economically viable I would live in Australia for 9 months and spend 3 months in England - primarily for the reason @Burgey gave but also for the history and the English countryside.

Sometimes generalisations are accurate though
Obviously your comments are tongue in cheek but I very much understand them.

This probably isn't the place but **** it, I'll say it anyway.

I absolutely understand why many on here 'hate' England and the English. Cricket as a sport was built around our horrific colonisation of various countries around the world. When the Aussies had the 'temerity' to beat us, it was seen as the death of English cricket - hence the Ashes.

I'm English obviously but much of our history and indeed our present actions appal me.

I'm a born and bred Scouser, and we've been treated horrendously by the establishment in this country. I hate the establishment in this country more than any Aussie, Kiwi, Indian etc could ever do.

But what I would say to those on here, is never confuse England the country with all those that live here.

One of the best things about this site, is the banter between members form different countries and as long as that never gets personal, which from what I've seen, it seldom does, long live it.

Anyway, rant over and here's to a fantastic Ashes series, which of course, I'm desperate for us to win.

Yeah neutrals who have (quite rightly) complained about how obnoxious Australia media can be when the team is good have no idea what's in store for them from the English media now that the English team is actually good and fun for the first time in a fair while.

When was last time when Ashes would determine who is the best side in the World ?
If either of Aus or Eng win this series with 3-1 or 4-0 or 2-0 or 3-0 margin , I would have no hesitation in calling that side best in the World

Aus pace bowler squad will be- batters pick themselves. maybe only batter change bancroft for warner - rest stays the same. Inglis will be added as cover for Carey.

****

Cummins
Starc
Hazlewood * pending fitness
Scott Boland
Lance Morris - he bowls 150kph.
Spencer Johnson (like for like cover for Starc)
Green(all rounder)

Neser wont tour. Military medium pace. Aus selectors have given priority to express pace bowlers over the years e.g. Jhye, Pattinson. Scott boland gets in cos of the similarity to Mcgrath type of style seam/swing he generates. As its 5 tests, maybe one of the express pace backups in Morris/Spencer Johnson will play. Also Hazlewood's fitness is much like Jhye's i.e. mostly out of action, in that case Morris and Johnson will make the squad.
