You may, but that doesn't change the fact that they won't be official Tests. Neither were the rebel tours of yesteryear.
We'd prefer to think of this as a more World Series Cricket-type venture - we are looking out for the best interests of our players rather than ourselves.

Hence, with WSC's non-inclusion in Test and ODI record's remaining one of the games greater farces, I see no reason to deprive our men of a crack at Test cricket.

And besides, it causes no harm

It does. It will result in players who have done nothing, or not enough to play Test cricket and that's not the best way to go about things.

They will be listed as unofficial Tests, making them the equivalent to FC matches.

And yet the Cricket Web XI, with a team of makeshift players, earn Test and ODI caps...

I see the logic.

Due to necessity. When the rebel players return to the CW XI the games played in South Africa will be recognized as domestic level games.

Regarding the Board's stance on the tour, I ask that you clearly list your demands or mission statement so that we may work toward resolving the dispute.

When.

The CWBCC is confident that a resolution will come before the World Cup.
Yet you welcome the main problem back into the fold.

Using the SA analogy that's the same as stopping arpartheid, then restarting it the next day...

I never welcomed anything or anyone back. lord stated that he wishes to return, but that does not mean he will be selected. As far as I can see he should not be eligible for selection until this is resolved.

Still awaiting the demands...

**Announcment from CW XI and Rebel Team Member Masterblaster**

After the finish of the Rebel Tour, I as a player am willing to come back to the CW XI and resume my place with the side. Of course my performances must be the main and sole criteria that I am selected in the side.

In the past, selection procedures have been ludicrious and questionable, I will only come back and help the CW XI only IF the selectors and hierarchy will re-evaulate and re-design their selection procedures.

I sincerely would love to play on the upcoming tour of New Zealand and in the World Cup, but as a player I can atleast be assured of a place in the side, and be treated as a valuable team member, unlike in the past when all I have been is an out of place bystander.

I am willing and ready to let the past be the past, and look forward to a brighter future with my relationship with the CW XI, the selectors, the coach and the captain.

Awaiting your response.....

Regards

Master Blaster

Just to clarify that Master Blaster's selection was always based on merit and nothing else. The CWBCC can not make any promises currently until there is further insight into the resolution of the issue at hand.
