If they can successfully turn Trish Stratus as an awesome heel (although that has a lot to do with her talent), I think Rey could be done. But it'd be tough. He'd have to turn on RVD I guess.

Who are everyone's picks for the Elimination Chamber at New Years Revolution for the vacant world title?

Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Batista

I still have my money on Edge, though his odds would have dropped by now. I'd really like to see him take it, and go on to battle Benoit at Mania 21, with a Batista vs. Triple H feud being done without the world title.

Jericho, for the third time straight, has been included in the Elimination Chamber with absolutely no chance of winning. Happened at Survivor Series in 2002, happened at SummerSlam in 2003, and is happening again. I just wish they'd hype him as at least a possible winner!

^Yup I think Edge too, it just looks like thats the way its building.

But what would be cool if they screw him again somehow, and he gets even more frustrated, finally taking it from Bemoit at Mania.

Yes, I'd like Benoit to win it, and Edge take it from him at Mania. That would rock. It would work too, since it's bloomingly obvious that JBL will hold the WWE title till Mania, and drop it to a face. That way the WWE can still have their 'Mania' moment for the face like they have every year.

I remember Meltzer recently saying something along the lines of Rocky returning to put SNITSKY over being Vince's current plan!?!?!

If this happens I will crap myself. Snitsky doesn't deserve to be on the same planet as the Rock let alone go over him at a Mania.

Also mentioned that Dave Batista could go toe to toe with Orton at the Rumble. This would be great as Orton winning the Rumble seemed a shoe-in and taking him out of it leaves it wide open.

Also, Big Show apparently wants into the SD Main Event Scene and has his eyes on facing a challenger Taker at Mania. Wonder where Angle or JBL will firgure into this as setting up JBL v Cena at the Rumble would be perfect IMO.

Just some things in the pipeline according to the very knowledgable David Meltzer, who isn't always right but at least is credible more times than not. Hopefully the Snitsky and Show rumours are way off the mark tho.

Meltzer mentioned something about a Barbed Wire Caged Match or osmething similar at No Way Out. Now I usually would think this is some dumb internet rumour, but MELTZER? He's almost always spot on.

Just to get this ball rolling again, out of all 20 WM main events, which one did you enjoy the most? I've been lucky enough to see all 20 Manias, so its hard for me to pick just one, so I'll make a top 3.

My top 3 are as follows:

1. Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan - WM 6
Totally got sucked in with this match. Both Hogan and Warrior just had this presence, and when you're young, and seeing both these guys going at it, there's nothing better. Just like the crowd did, I ate it up and absolutely loved the finish. One of my biggest mark out moments was seeing Warrior win that night.

2. Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels - WM 20
Far from old school, but to hell with that. I loved everything about this match. I was drawn in with every move, and to me it was totally unpredictable. Logical booking had Benoit winning, but we never truly knew that he would. No one was 100%. The finish, my God it doesn't get any better than that.

3. The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin - WM 17
Once again, not really old school, but brilliant. Loved the hype for the match, and boy did it live up to it. Every match these guys put on is entertaining, and at that time, the internet wasn't even a thought for me wrestling wise other than WWE.com, so I had absolutely no idea regarding the Austin turn. I'm not sure whether the net knew about bit, or there were rumours, but that shocked me. From the minute the match was called as a No DQ match I thought they had something planned, but never thought it would be that. The crowd were brilliant, and the one-sided Texas crowd made the finish that much better.

Other ones which I loved, and just missed the top 3, were Savage vs. Hogan at WM 5, my first Mania, Austin vs. Michaels at WM 14 and Bret vs. Yoko at WM 10. :-)

Your turn.

My 2nd and 3rd rank are exactly same as that picked by you,Jono...well...except that my 2nd is your 3rd and vice-versa

I never watched Hogan Vs Warrior so I dont know about that...

But I dont think you are going to like this Jono...my all-time favourite WrestleMania main event is Bret Vs HBK at WMXII

Peace.

Really recommend you do. What you do is this. Watch the match in 'old school' mode. Do not, I repeat, do not judge the match based on today's standards. You have to watch the match, like you would have watched Rock vs. Hogan at Mania 18. Feel the moment, the presence of the wrestlers and the crowd's reaction.

Hey, by no means did the match suck. It just could have been a lot better considering it had one of the greatest technical wrestlers in WWE history, and one of the greatest pure performers in WWE history. Still a solid match, but IMO not the best ever. But by all means let it be your favourite ;)

If you want a great Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels match, watch their Ladder Match. Yes, they had a ladder match. The first one ever. It was at a house show, so not many know about it and think Razor Ramone vs. Shawn @ Mania 10 was the first ever. But it wasn't ;)

Here we go again...we were not talking about the best WM match ever, were we?
Anyway I think its the best;)

Oh man...They had a ladder match?I guess I had not started watching wrestling as yet that time...I have not even seen the Ramon-HBK ladder match...I have missed a lot!
Where can I get hold of those videos? LimeWire?

I've got the Bret and Shawn ladder match too, but don't know where I can upload it.

In fact I've got so many Hitman matches lying around it isn't funny, so I'll upload heaps of em when I can find a place for em. Gotta love that Bret v Austin match which shot Steve over to greatness. Any of the Rock v Austin matches and any of Vince's grudge macthes are wothry of a mention as far as Mania moments go.

But this years Triple Threat was off the hook, Benoit finally winning and the hug at the end with Eddie got me all teary. It was the perfect Main Event IMO. Even HBK couldn't **** Benoit's moment or steal his glory.

to be honest i miss the good old days of mick foley before wwf or wwe as it is now had to cut down and sensor violence due to the amount of kids watching, it became too popular for its own good in my opinion now, the company seem to be more concerned about making money and feeding the fans recycled storylines over and over, the dare devil side to things that foley possesd has nearly vasnished completely, the only ones who are left but i fear that even they are selling out are RVD and thats about it.....

Jeff hardy was always great to watch as well.

jeff was terrific before 2002 - since then he became lazy and demotivated and the 'e' only ran matches between him and RVD (who also deserves better). all i can say is i hope they push matt who was thoroughly awesome as the sensei of mattitude if anyone can remember back to 2002?

edge vs benoit is gd, i dunno if theyd make it for the title though? i thought theyve been building to some HHH vs Orton or Batista programme

My storyline until WrestleMania 21 and its matches...

Benoit beats HHH when they are the only ones remaining at the end of the chamber match...HHH is injured...Jericho vs Benoit at WMXXI in an epic battle(face vs face or turn Benoit into a heel after Royal Rumble)...Benoit taps out to the walls of Jericho

Meanwhile Randy turns heel again and claims no one can beat the legend-killer...but HHH returns at WMXXI as a face in a no DQ match against Randy...we can have HHH vs Orton at WMXXI but in completely different circumstances rather than the predictable World Championship match

Well...and yeah I almost forgot Edge...as he has lost the number one contendership to Jericho at Royal Rumble(feels he was screwed again),he turns his attention to the one who started it all at Taboo Tuesday - HBK...HBK vs Edge...Edge wins with help from Nature Boy...(Evolution is over...Ric teams up with Edge to help him become as good a legend as himself playing dirty...Ric at his best...Edge becomes champion at Summerslam)

Other Matches...Big Show vs Batista...RAW Vs Smackdown match feuding for the title of strongest wrestler

Lesnar returns and so does The Rock...another RAW vs SD classic where both are trying to prove they still got it and who's the better of the 'returners'...Rock Wins

Didn't think for SmackDown side...

Well what do you think
