*Official* Pro-Wrestling Thread II

BARNES OUT
One of the most overrated guys in all of wrestling imo.

Just do not see what the appeal is with him.
He's a very good wrestler and would be a great main event babyface. His gimmick is ass, and he doesn't work it well. He laughs like an idiot and looks like a teenager from 2003. It doesn't even make sense. Why does he like knives? Why does liking knives mean he's a bad guy? Why is he cowardly? It's awful, IMO.

I've not seen enough of him to really comment extensively on his wrasslin' ability. So I can give him a pass on that, though on the occasions I have seen he did not strike me as anything remarkable. Especially in relation to his peers.

But yeah, re: the gimmick etc, I agree entirely. I look at this bloke and just think "nah". Don't buy it at all.

I really hate it (not that it happens often these days I guess), when attempts are made to incorporate weapons that would cause wounding/lethal injury etc. are incorporated into wrestling. It's just dumb, because you know they are never going to be properly used and their involvement always comes across as hokey and fake as ****. Switchblade is a good example of this I guess, but it applies also to HHH with the sledgehammer etc. as well.

I know Jay White is a kiwi, a great wrestler and in bullet club amd everything. But man i just cant give a **** about him.

Really feels like Ospreay should be in his spot.

Yeah, I reckon Ospreay should be getting the mega push. NJPW are desperate for a big foreigner and Ospreay>White/ZSJ>Juice

Ospreay's fine where he is, trending towards the upper midcard. At least until he can stop killing himself every time he has a match, anyway. As for White/ZSJ/Juice, let's just say long, rambling promos that most of their audience has a hard time giving a **** about is not the answer.

There just isn't anyone on the roster who can fill Omega's void for the considerable future. They spent years building him up and forming a connection with the fans. So instead of shoehorning a foreigner into a top spot because of the expansion, they really should be focusing on the overseas draws they already have: Okada, and to a lesser extent Naito and Ibushi. Their stateside shows suffer because they're practically non-canonical, glorified ROH cards, not because they don't have Stone Cold Steve Austin as their token white guy.

If they're still serious about the expansion, their biggest priority should be the non-wrestling side, anyway. Build a ********* service that isn't ****ing Google translated, hire some ****ing editors for their main site, and subtitle everything better and more quickly. Basically, make their existing content and their existing stars more accessible.
