Him and Finlay constantly had really good singles matches as Young Lions and it's been expected he'll come back and be a star, and for me, be an important figure as NJPW tries to get a foothold in Aus/NZ, but man, walking into the second biggest match on the card was unexpected.
There's a parallel with Okada coming back and challenging Tana, although Okada at least had a squash match victory. I guess Jay's version of that is getting pinfalls at the Long Beach shows

Really? He seems to do whatever the **** he wants, with his band taking him away from the grind regularly and his podcast having all manners of guests and taboo WWE topics I don't really get that impression.
I'm not sure if it's the case currently since I havent followed his podcast for a while. But going back a year or so there was an impression that he was a bit of a shill and defended wwe as much as possible. I didn't fully subscribe to that thought, but it was definitely a thing. He used to get loads of **** for it on social media too.

It'll be a cool sight to see Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom. Though if I'm being honest, match quality-wise it's several steps down from what I expected. An Omega/Ibushi match would've been ****ing crazy, whereas Jericho at the moment would struggle to crack the top 20 wrestlers in New Japan.

Jay White's an interesting one as well. Kind of feel the same there but rather than the wrestling side of things being a problem, it's the character work. Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom is a stupidly big match for him this early on. Still, it's really cool to see a New Zealander around my age in a big spot at my favourite event of the year. Weird hearing that accent from a wrestler.

Hopefully my boy Goto gets something decent to do.

I actually think the other singles title matches being cool but not “big” NJPW storyline matches makes Naito and Okada even more special.

Young Bucks vs. R3K
Kushida vs. Ospreay vs. Scrull vs. Takahashi
Cody vs. Ibushi
Omega vs. Jericho
Tanahashi vs. White
Okada vs. Naito

And there’s still the heavyweight tag match, trio and the neverweight matches on top of that (dunno if anything’s been announced for those)

Evil, SANADA, BUSHI vs. Goto, Ishii and Beretta or YOSHI-HASHI

Yeah agree, but this is obvs a move that has been made to help New Japan break into the US market. Just an attraction.

Should still be cool though. Jericho still no slouch even though he's obvs not the performer he was.

Good on Solo for his 10 years of shows. Great effort.

Despite this, listening to some of the listeners call in is painful. I can get why he does it, and it's nice, but fmd.

Yeah most of them are so bad. I'm listening to it right now and there's a guy called Vince who attempted to do a Vince McMahon impression and Solomonster just cut the line

Lol @ Sheamus and Cesaro wearing Liverpool shirts.

But I guess that means Usos v Shield is off, which sucks balls. Was the only match at the PPV I wanted to see really.

Haha Kurt in the training top.

Speaking of Kurt, he was the best thing about RAW this week imo. Badass Kurt Angle that runs around getting all intense and shouting at people that give him **** is the best Kurt Angle (other than maybe early comedy heel Angle).

Probably going to regret typing this later, but think AJ will win tonight. Its a poor Survivor Series card and Brock v Jinder is not helping things. AJ to win tonight and get killed by Brock and lose before the belt before they go back to India.

Whilst Brock vs Jinder is total AIDS, I'm not sure I can see this happening.

Firstly, although it's bombed, Jinder has basically received a monster push. For him to drop the title to Styles on TV just a short while before a PPV he has been advertised as main-eventing would really send the last six or so months of work go down the pan. Even if the time has come to get the title off him, I think this would make him look really really bad.

Secondly, Brock vs AJ is a money match. I doubt they will want to throw it away on a show that doesn't really mean much, and with very little build. Especially after they've blown through a load of other big money attractions in the last month or so, also with no build (i.e. AJ vs Finn, Shield Reunion, Angle's first match in ten years etc.) Got to keep some of that powder dry.

Edit: Third. I really want to see Brock kill the Singhs.
