Hahaha, I think I got enough laughter out of HHH beating Goldberg last time round. Still makes me chuckle to this day. More than ten years on and the memory of an injured HHH in cycling shorts beating a dominant Goldberg with one blow is still prominent. Man that was funny.

Speaking of Solomonster, he was speaking about possible opponents for Goldberg a few weeks back, and basically came to the conclusion that the only high-profile match he could think of would be Goldberg vs Reigns.

I emailed him asking why he didn't consider Cena, but he didn't reply.
I thought he had it first Lesnar, then Cena, then Rusev?

Editb sorry that should read Reigns not Cena

Was all about Reigns tbh. Unless I didn't listen properly and made a massive ass out of myself with that email. lol

Yeah Goldberg is rubbish. Had a great look and a great entrance and wrestling is far better off with him as a distant memory.

Haha, not sure that bodes well. Most of the guys who no longer work there were cut for a very good reason (i.e. they were crap).
I reckon there are a few guys still floating around that could believably return and do a decent job, even if only for 12-18 months while the next batch of NXT guys develop and are ready to slot straight in.

Tajiri
The Brian Kendrick (both in the CWC)
Cryme Tyme
Evan Bourne
Carlito
Rhyno
MVP
Rob Van Dam
Chris Masters
Shelton Benjamin

And that isn't to mention the former WWE guys under TNA or LU deals. Or, y'know, that guy with the Olympic Gold Medal that everyone keeps wanting to come back.

I really liked what Rhyno did in NXT but I think that was the last bit of quality they'll be able to get out of him. Rest are all pretty solid names.

One of the worst booking decisions of all time. Fair enough if they simply didn't want to give him the belt because they feared he'd leave after his contract ended anyway, or Trips didn't want to go over because he's Trips etc. But it wasn't that. Trips lost the belt clean to Goldberg at the next PPV anyway. So basically all they did was delay the belt change, kill Goldberg's momentum and cost themselves a bucket load of cash, because Goldberg would have made them huge money as champion, at least for the rest of 2003 and early 2004.

Most of these guys were fodder last time they were around. Not the bolstering the roster needs

They've got the existing talent to believably have a strong main event scene on both shows. There's a stack of depth in the midcard with the likes of Cesaro, Rusev, Ziggler and Zayn all upwardly mobile; a brand split can pull them out of the shuffle and get them higher up the card.

Then grabbing 2-3 experienced, reliable workers on each show -- sitting them in midcard to provide depth to divisions -- can plug the gaps until the remainder of the NXT guys get called up, the Performance Centre guys are ready, and the roster fills out organically. The kinds of guys who can introduce new call-ups to live shows, get them over, and then fade into the background.

I really hope that AJ gets drafted one way, and Gallows/Anderson get drafted the other and align with Balor. Would give you a brilliant long-build Royal Rumble spot where AJ, Finn and Gallows/Anderson are all in the ring at once, and The Club essentially have to pick their leader, eventuating in a cross-promotional WrestleMania match between the two.

Doesn't send a very good message though, does it? I mean, I agree that most of those guys could do a good job. But, "hey, let's hire back a bunch of people who didn't make the grade first time round" isn't exactly best foot forward stuff imo.
