SAMI ZAYN on RAW :D That was awesome. Would ****ing love a Zayn vs Owens vs Neville match for the IC title at WM. Man that'd be good.
Just posted about this elsewhere, but I'd be hugely disappointed if it was anything else. And of course as I started writing this post...

Dave says Zayn is in a six way for the IC title at WM. Ryback/Kalisto is for the US title.

**** this is stupid if they keep this plan. There's no reason for the IC title be a 6 man ladder match, which presumably it would be. You've got a strong IC champion, who has a great rival in Sami. Sami also had a long NXT storyline with Neville, who has no real rivalry with Owens yet but because Kev is such a dick, one can start with ridiculous ease. So instead of having a triple threat with good workers, good storylines, you're gonna have Dolph, Miz & Stardust clog it up and turn it into a ladder spotfest? I wouldn't even mind it if was a triple threat ladder match, but you don't need additional numbers clogging it up. Let Ryback have them (and hell Neville might not even be in it the six way ladder match)

Bloody hell, one step forward two steps back

ahahahah on the same show Dave says that during the 60's Australia was the place to go if you wanted to make some money wrestling. Best playing place in wrestling. Who knew

I think it's disappointing but don't really see it that negatively. A regular IC title ladder match with the best workers not already in WM is a fairly cool prospect and KO vs. Zayn is going to likely be something we will revisit many many times. Introducing the entire audience to Zayn (again) and keeping KO strong is a decent result of that booking.

Ryback vs. Kalisto?

Sigh.

Tbf I get the impression that he's been cleverly advised re: the relevant law, and he's trying taking this approach so to build his arguments in a way that supports his case the best. Sadly, for him at least, the payoff is pretty laughable.

So Roadblock seems like it'll be better than Fastlane.

Triple H vs Dean Ambrose - Triple H will win 99%, if he doesn't then they're doing something crazy as hell and last minute for Wrestlemania. Man that'd be awesome. Lesnar vs. HHH vs. Ambrose vs. Reigns (and Bray can come too)

Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt - Lesnar, probably by DQ

The New Day vs. Sheamus & King Barrett - New Day

The Revival vs. Enzo and Big Cass - The Revival, probably by DQ

And we'll possibly get KO vs. Big Show (which has honestly been pretty decent? will KO be able to pop-up powerbomb Big Show like he did Mark Henry?)

Off sick so watching some old PPV's on the Network. Watching RR 2000 ATM and oh **** it's good. King's commentary all night has been incredible, some classic lines. Also, is it just me that loves the way JR says "Grand Master ***ay"?!

One thing that is really weird though is seeing proper chair shots. Find it really hard to watch now after reading so much about brain trauma and knowing the damage they cause. Seeing Foley get blasted with a chair clean to the head by Triple H was real hard to watch. The Dudley's had some savage chair shots too, hit the Hardy's with some nasty ones.

I wonder if they might be better off just doing away with steel chairs altogether these days tbh. I fully understand why headshots are totally banned etc... and have no desire to see them return. But seeing people hit over the back with a chair just feels "meh" to me. Doesn't have any real impact on me as a viewer.

Yeah I think we've been completely desensitised by big spots these days. The only two really big spots which have made me mark out over the past couple of years are Kalisto's Salida del Sol and Seth-Orton's curbstomp into an RKO. Or maybe I'm too hard to please nowadays?

I think there is definitely something to this, and it's been acknowledged by those in the industry too. There's an interview with Edge, Christian and (I think) the Hardys on WWE Network somwhere (one of the Rivalries shows, I think) where they all say that they basically became victims of their own success, because after the ladder match at No Mercy 99 the demands for them to do cool and innovative things just kept going up and up and up. I guess we're now at a point where it's really difficult to do things that haven't been done before.

from the observer about current internal discussions about New Day's entrance:

"There has been a push for New Day doing a major entrance at Mania. What we are told is that they wanted to fly around the stadium on unicorns, but the company has not approved it and we’re told it’s less than 50 percent that it will be approved."

That would be the greatest thing ever.

I saw that doco. I think they just meant that over the next 2 years or so of them doing their 3 way ladder/TLC matches meant they had to keep upping the risk of their spots more and more.
