Any chance this is a work? He's said multiple times if the E won't let him wrestle he'll go and do it elsewhere. Unless of course his condition is even more severe than we've been ked to believe.

There is always the chance but I think we have to assume the WWE are self aware enough not to do a concussion storyline.

Yeah, you'd think so. But have they ever officially accounted his injury status to be the result of concussions? IIRC they've only ever vaguely alluded to it at best; when on TV he's only ever referred to his neck and shoulder injuries iirc (though I may be remembering that completely wrong). They could build a storyline out of that easily enough.

In any case, the timing of this seems strange. Why announce this now in the run-in to WM of all times? The roster is as thin as anything right now, bring him back to bait the fans with will only re-emphasise this. It doesn't really make any sense. Could easily hold it off for another 2 months, the guy has been away for nearly a year as it is after all.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself, as I'd actually be surprised if he does work a match again for the WWE, but something about this doesn't quite add up for me just yet. I guess we'll see in a few hours.

From all accounts, he had tests before the rumble and the results were not good so he decided to retire himself.Love the guy, but the fact he was never going to switch up his style so its probably for the best he retires before any more damage. You recall his last run? He was taking crazy bumps and quite a few of them were just not needed whatsoever.

Hopefully he earned enough money to live comfortably now.

Have a horror feeling that Steph will come out and do her usual emasculating bollocks though when he cuts his farewell promo.:@

It'd be funny if he did something like try and put over CM Punk, or cut a shoot promo on Stephanie, but I suspect he's too nice a guy (and too much of a professional) to do that.

Do they visit Seattle often?

It's his hometown.

40 minutes in the stuff that went on after Raw ended. Roster and Vince came out.

I missed his whole career more or less. Can anyone point me to some of his best matches/work? Gutted for the guy on a personal level, not being able to do what you love due to injuries.
