hehTriple HHH.
hehTriple HHH.
wait you too, am i missing something?Triple HHH
Yeah that seemed like a weak point. Owens being out there was not indicative of anything, really.Rubbish. Shaemus and Orton were out there too. Roman + Dean + Cena are anti-authority. Wyatt is supernatural entity/distracting relationship with Undertaker. Seth is the champ and had a distracting relationship with both.
Owen just stood in a particularly noticeable position which made him a bit more memorable than Shaemus/Cesaro/Rusev and Orton who were all out there too.
What we got was effectively everyone who won't take orders from Triple HHH.
It's a cool kids thing that you wouldn't understand.wait you too, am i missing something?
Even though Dave Meltzer was "at a loss for words" over the shortsightedness of Owens losing at Battleground in that manner on his latest subscriber only radio show, he still could explain why it happened. Partially it was a panic move over Cena's merchandise selling at a noticeably slower pace immediately after his Elimination Chamber defeat, which explains why he got his win back over Owens so quickly at Money In The Bank. More disturbingly, Meltzer talked about Machiavellian forces within WWE that are salivating at the prospect of Owens failing and was helping to give him enough rope to hang himself with:
This isn't a particularly compelling argument, given Randy's last real story was about not taking orders from HHH and feuding with Seth. I can get on board with a "Don't read too much into who went out there" argument, but not through an authority route. (main argument would be 'Just don't read too much into who went out there')Rubbish. Shaemus and Orton were out there too. Roman + Dean + Cena are anti-authority. All well and good, but it's kinda different when it's a reputed name saying it, not just internet scrubs. If they're trying to bury Owens by booking him against the biggest star for two months to launch his start in WWE, then by George I think they're doing it.
It's just so tedious to continually hear that the only way to do right by Kevin Owens is to get him to beat Cena. This is a wrestling, the heel doesn't have to win to gain a bigger profile. And even if he did beat Cena, where does he go from there? The only way to top that kind of start would be giving him the WWE Championship.
People always think in the short term outcome of what we get from a feud, and before anyone quotes that they have no long term plans that bollocks. They may not script everything out ages in advance (and God forbid they start doing that or we'd have everything leaked months before it happened) but they do develop these characters.
What does the average viewer gain from Owens start? Loose cannon, quick for a big guy, arrogant, strong on mic, strong in ring. Hell, I started watching again when he came onto the scene and there isn't a doubt in my mind that he is one of the 10 biggest names on the roster at the moment.
Thats a massive gain. Wrestling fans and writers are just so so so so cynical. It's like they forget what wrestling is, and what it has been all the time. Could you imagine what the 90s would have been like if we had the social media presence of today?
Yeah this is essentially my view, but we've got a good source saying that he may not do too much over the next few months because the head guy has a stupid opinion about this awesome wrestler, which feels kinda similar, so it's no surprise some are worried. The nature of the speculation (Owens doesn't match Vince's idea of a wrestler looks like, and division between the old guard and new guard) adds to this too. Thankfully opinions can change and what Meltzer is reporting now may be correct, and over the long term it might be different. All well and good, but it's kinda different when it's a reputed name saying it, not just internet scrubs.
Btw, I for one don't have a problem with Owens losing. A heel losing a feud to a top babyface is nothing out of the ordinary. Not even him tapping was a big deal to me, because he gave an awesome post match interview which made sense of the whole thing. He's been handled fine so far, and I hope it continues.
He's annoying because he stutters a lot, but that's about it. There's really nothing much to dislike about him. Also, Meltzer is a **** **** **** **** and athlai made a bloody great post a few up from this
People love Rollins don't they? I'd usually be fine with a Rollins vs Cena feud but it's just so sub-optimal to what they could be doing. There's so many people Rollins could have awesome matches/feuds with, and instead we just get Cena/Rollins again. Boo.Brian Alvarez seems to think it'll be Rollins vs Cena at SS. Are Brooklyn crowds as smarkish as MSG crowds? This is getting crapped on.
There is so much to dislike about him. For example his ****ing stupid rating system and the fact he gave Taker-Shawn ****3/4. I could fill a book with my problems with both the system and the way he dishes it out. I hate him more than I hate Jono. He's annoying because he stutters a lot, but that's about it. When was the last time Cena lost a feud though? He doesn't need to win or be a part of the ME scene to stay over. Seth is in desperate need of some credibility. Heh he himself doesn't think too much when giving out his star ratings and has said plenty of times he's surprised people take the ratings that seriously. There is so much to dislike about him. Tbf to him, it's actually how seriously the rest of the world takes them that bugs me, and the fact that nearly anyone who rates a wrestling match used the same system. BahHeh he himself doesn't think too much when giving out his star ratings and has said plenty of times he's surprised people take the ratings that seriously.
