Well guys. I told you all solomonster was great and now I have proof

- he rates HHH V Kane, Judgement Day 2001, chain match. Such a forgotten beauty that thing. HHH was sooooo good then, just before his quad
- he calls Bray the face of failure. So good

The guy is clearly a big fan of HHH

He's on record saying Trips from start of 2000 to his quad injury in 2001 was awesome. And he was.

Wonder what would have happened had he never had the quad injury. I mean apparently the invasion plans were centred around him and Austin (along with getting some other marquee WCW names), but longer term who knows. We probably still would have had the 03-04 reign of terror but maybe things would have taken a completely different path.

So apparently Rollins has been banned from using the curb stomp.
As a move it looks awesome but it makes me cringe every single time so I can understand that tbh. Wonder if they'll kayfabe explain him switching finishers (assuming the story is true, I also read this last night).

Wait is it banned in kayfabe like Orton's rko for the match as a stipulation or banned in real life? It's a great finisher imo... Are there injury concerns or something? Looks safe enough to execute tbh.

Concerns about it going wrong and someone getting a head injury

Well if there are legitimate concerns then fair enough. Hope he gets a badass new finisher.

Good that their taking concussions and other head injuries seriously now but I find those stupid suicide dives every single wrestler does in seemingly every match to be far worse. Risky and way overdone.

Yeah, but Kane has no credibility these days whatsoever. Feeding him to Rollins will do little for either of them.
Kane is a joke. But hell, if he brings back the mask, he instantly becomes 10 times more entertaining. Every time he puts on the mask again, he becomes credible... relatively at least.

And I thought Kane's promo was actually pretty badass. I'd obviously prefer Rollins feud with someone else but Masked Kane is still a hell of a lot better than ****ing Big Show for example.

The problem is, I think, the whole putting the mask on/taking it off thing has been done too many times for people to give a crap now. It's pretty clear to anyone who cares that Kane is never getting pushed to a credible level again (and nor should he given the amount of younger talent they have). The best way he can be used now imo would be similar to the way in which he was when he was Bryan's partner. Using him as a glorified jobber and putting him against younger stars will do no good at all imo, unless perhaps they have only very recently debuted.

I'm a big Kane fan generally btw. Used to think he was gun. Seriously misused and underrated for much of his career. But sadly these days his character is shot and he's over the hill. Still better than Big Show, as you say, but that's damning with faint praise as well. Bloke should retire.

I don't know, every time they've brought the mask back he's been fun to watch for some reason. The whole Team Hell No thing with Bryan was fantastic. It's played out obviously but I don't think it'll be terrible. Atleast compared to Reigns vs Big Show for the 500th time.

Feel bad for Reigns now. What on earth do they think they're doing with him? How many times does he need to have that same match with Big Show ffs.

I see what you mean, and to some extent feel the same. The mask speaks to my inner child and reminds me of times when Kane was on the periphery of being a maineventer and was getting pops that blew the roof off. Those days are well and truly gone now though. The enthusiasm the return of his mask brings is short-lived, not just by the fans but by the writers; after a few forgettable feuds and victories over inconsequential guys he'll be back to doing nothing interesting, one suspects.

I don't feel too bad for Reigns tbh. The entire Extreme Rules card is full of filler feuds that mean nothing, so he's not being singled out for this treatment. Working with Big Show won't do him any real favours, but another month of him being tied up in a feud that doesn't have anything to do with the world title won't do him any harm. I feel more sorry for the fans than anyone else.

Just had a terrible thought. What if these aren't filler feuds at all, and the E genuinely thinks the best way to get Rollins and Reigns over is to have them beat Kane and Big Show? Ergh.

I's also safer than that 7 foot RKO which Rollins ate at Wrestlemania.
Don't agree with this, personally.

Anyway. Raw did not feel like a go home show. Kinda realising the double edged sword that is the network. On the one hand, I would not pay for this PPV, but I will 100% watch it on Monday night on the network. On the other, WWE know this and therefore their income isn't as reliant on one big show but rather the long term attractions of the network. Leaves a danger of PPVs becoming more like 'specials' outside of the big ones

That being said. This is a free network month so they're obviously not going to throw out the big guns and a good show will go a long way to getting those who signed up because it was free to keep the subscription

Btw, on Show V Reigns. Their street fight at the house show I went to was very good. If they can replicate that for the PPV I'll be happy.

Also, Cena must win Sunday. The open challenges are awesome. Word is they are releasing a new belt design soon, though that may piss off some people who've just bought his new champ is here t shirt.

Anyways. I'll post some predictions later in the week.
