It's as if a bus hit the team.
They could have picked Abdul ****ing Qadir and he would have rolled you ****s with this batting lineup.Marcuss pre-Test thoughts:
- Marnus FTW
- Why did they pick Bilal?
Not a great day for Marcuss Pty Ltd stocks.
True, hard to take a Test batting lineup with Marnus in it seriously. They could have picked Abdul ****ing Qadir and he would have rolled you ****s with this batting lineup.
There isn't a lot, mostly because the batting is flat out terrible, and I don't think we bowled all that badly. I'm not even sure winning the toss will do much in so much as the pitch still looks pretty decent. And given this is a tour dropping half the batting lineup can't happen (though calling up Renshaw given he can bat time really needs to happen unless we can save a draw somehow). So this game is pretty much done, what can they do differently next time out? Pray that they don't lose the toss?
Mohammad Abbas is really looking like he could be Pakistan's next great bowler, ridiculous start to his Test career.
Marnus - bowled well, fielded well, batting poorly.True, hard to take a Test batting lineup with Marnus in it seriously.
Nothing is ever so bad that you should wish you are *****, mate.FFS. This is so bad I wish I was ***** with a backup team
They were generally decent balls, but no-one got one that was realistically unplayable, there were some flat out terrible shots there. Paine and Marsh probably got the best balls whereas Finch was more of a case of excellent captaincy rather than a bad shot (poor shot selection, though).Yeah, I haven't watched any of it, so I don't know whether the dismissals were great bowling or rank shots. TBH, it looks hard to bowl magic balls on this surface.
Looks like I'm too much of an optimist. Fmd 202 is 1980s dark days kind of stuff. That wicket was so flat I think I could make a first innings ton on it.
It seriously looked like a concrete pitch I played on in juniors with a hard plastic ball.
Still, watch Australia collapse to 255 ao on day 3.
Yeah, there were signs in 2017 that Australia were getting closer to fixing the Asia issue (or at least be less laughable over there) - they played very well in India (at least until the 4th Test) and while drawing 1-1 in Bangladesh isn't a great look I don't think we did all that badly over there. This lineup just doesn't have the tools to succeed here.Renshaw has to play next test and one of Finch or Khawaja goes to three. One of the daybootants drops out. It’s not much but Renshaw bats time at least.
The stupid thing is I think Australia has worked out a method of playing in Asia which can work - bowl dry lines, patience in the field and bat time. But this line up isn’t capable of doing it sans the Angry Ant and TPC.
But he made 60 in India, that's hot property.True, hard to take a Test batting lineup with Marnus in it seriously.
Continuing the 2016/17 analogy:The role of Nic Maddinson in season 2018/19 will be jointly played by Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne.
I don't either, but he had still earned his crack and he's probably better than Head and Labuschagne.Still don't think Burns is much good tbh.
