Afghanistan so close to their first ever win against Pakistan in ODI Cricket but not to be as Pakistan snatch victory from the jaws of defeat ..

Afghanistan only themselves to blame really , after a huge double hundred stand , they left atleast 30-40 runs out there cause they only lost 5 wickets in their innings ..and then a ton of mistakes in the last 5 overs in their Bowling innings .

This match is a classic example of how a 5 bowler strategy can go pear shaped.

Pakistan saved by batting depth and Afghanistan doomed by lack of bowling depth. They must lack self belief to consistently mess up from unloseable positions. Feel bad for their epic spin trio. Nabi as the third spinner is obscenely good. The other 2 are, of course, stars. That was also some of the most brainless death bowling I've seen. It was very clear that the batsmen were trying to go straight but were having trouble clearing the field square. Should've thrown a slower bouncer in there. 5 wides, a full toss that should've been a no ball and 2 trash half volleys in the last 2 overs.

That was far too scratchy from Pakistan. You shouldn't be barely scraping home thanks to some good fortune after being 120/1 off 20 odd overs. Big big problems against spin highlighted once again. How do we need have a single guy capable of clearing the ropes against spin and slower balls? No other team has such a gaping prolapse between a gun top order and decent lower order.

Great game of cricket though. I was shitting myself towards the end.

see now that's a proper game of cricket. also shows that being 5-down in an ODI is actually detrimental to your team when you might as well go for broke and be all out or 8-9 down towards the end. 20 extra runs would have seen Afg comfortably home
