*Official* Pakistan v South Africa in Dubai

I just checked cricinfo and it seems there is no Yosaf in the ODI squad for Pak!What are the selectors thinking?I am so pissed at this nepotism. As it is the odds are heavily stacked against Pak with them facing a side they've never beaten in an ODI series, and then we have to deal with the idiocy of Farhat's father-in-law.

I have been following Pak cricket for 2 decades nearly and there has never been a side this bad.Not even close.

I have a feeling Pak may win the ODI series 3-2,they came ever so close in Eng afterall, but its the tests I am worried about.
Didn't Pakistan beat South Africa in a one day series in 1993 (the only time in their history)?????

Was it a tri-series?Because I am pretty sure they've never beaten SA in a bi-lateral series(read the commentary of the 5th ODI of the last series bet. SA and Pak on cricinfo. It is mentioned there that Afridi's impatience cost Pak a chance to win their first ODI series against SA or st along those lines.

Yeah, I remember that series as well. Wasim and Waqar triggered some epic lower-order collapses.

Pak won the toss and will bat. Umar Akmal dropped. YK is back, so is Alam and Shafiq. Pak openers have been ditched.

Is no-one showing this in the UK? British Eurosport showed the Twenty20s, but I can't see it on the listings today.

Never expected them to cover the Tests, obv, but I thought they might find time for ODIs.

They will show the final 3 ODIs. Think you will getting highlights of this game later this evening...

15 matches here (Sheikh Zayed Stadium) and the side winning the toss has always batted first, winning 9 times out of 14.

Pak's bowling attack looks pretty decent. 30 overs of spin, just question marks on Shoaib coming back after initial burst, what Gul turns up and if Razzaq will be touching 120kph or 110.

Yeah as always it's the batting that's the problem with them, and their bowling is merely pretty good rather than world class now.

I tell you, Asad Shafiq is the next big thing.
How long's he going to stay a big thing before having a spat with the board, taking drugs, fixing matches, trying to emulate Afridi's batting, marrying a South African or joining the England coaching staff, though?

We should start a pool.

Haider is really a stupidly bad selection for ODIs. He averages 15 with the bat and strikes at 62 after 61 List A games. It's not even a small sample size.
