I know Boult is number 11 and expectations of him are very low, but that was bloody dumb when you have a top 6 batsman in at the other end. He did exactly the same thing in the second match stranding Williamson too. Expect more.

good to see watling and somerville make a score of this as well. god watling is a hero.

on the home summer - santner isn't an instant selection imo. he's a #8 who is pretty tame with the ball. ajaz has earned a proper crack. santa strolls back into the odi team tho we really miss him.

likewise neesh needs more than 2(?) shield games before being rushed in. colin's unlikely to tour the uae again even if he plays for 5 more years. plus he's done well against good sides at home.

whenever i watch him bowl at test level im amazed colin isn't one of those trolls averaging 20 with the ball in the shield. accurate medium paced corridor swing bowling is kryptonite to domestic top orders.
