raval has a habit of following the ball imo. definitely at his best when he's trying to leave as many as he can.

This game's moved fast, hey? What was I saying about UAE producing dull cricket. The last few matches here have been really good. If only the crowds were better.

Well done Raval and KW for ensuring no further damage and some runs on the board. Overall it's a far better position for NZ to be in than we'd have imagined at the start of the day. Still needs a special batting effort tomorrow to trouble Pakistan you feel.

Yeah, sure needs a fair batting effort tomorrow. At this point in the game, I fancy the position of New Zealand over that of Pakistan.

One of the NZ batsmen will have to get a hundred. Williamson probably has the best chance of doing it.

Cong Wagner for 150 test wickets in 37 test matches only

I just check big list of players who took 150 wkts from 24 to 36 tests but no nz player in the list so such a great achievements by Transval born Neil wagner.

Yeah NZ definitely deserve a lot of credit for that bowling display, bar Sodhi everyone did their bit and Boult was exceptional.

Yeah, good fight back, but still 70:30 in Pakistan's favour imo. KW needs to go big if we're to stand a chance.

Boult really moving into NZ ATG territory of late. Question for the forum: will Boult surpass Hadlee's wicket tally? He needs 213 more and injury permitting he'll probably have another 50ish tests to get it done.

Isn't that like 10-12 years for you these days, though?

lovely trenty is doing something more important than earning the dubious "NZ ATG" tag - he's taking wickets overseas in very unfavourable conditions to 130-140kph along the wicket bowlers. not too many bowlers worldwide are enjoying going on tour atm.

every ball asked questions. on a luckier day he would have taken 7fer.

I’m in Aus on holiday atm so haven’t seen any of this, but tomorrow is a great chance for Williamson to play a captains knock that goes down with Taylor in Sri Lanka ... cmon Kane!

wow, well bowled NZ. Not following the match due to timing but seems like NZ in a stronger position now. Batting last on this wicket will be a nightmare. And Pakistan are well known in shitting all over themselves in even the simplest 4th innings chases

NZ favorites at this stage

It's tough to see us restricting them to anything less than a 100 run lead, if we can somehow achieve that, we'll still be in with a sniff.
They did better than I thought after day 1. Just 18 runs in deficit with 9 wickets in hand, they're definitely in with a sniff.

Really didn't expect to wake up and see we were still one down at the close - very impressive fightback. Lots to do tomorrow to set any kind of target.

Watched till tea and the bowling was generally disciplined. Boult as usual the Kane of our bowling, consistently performing no matter the conditions.

Now to put 225+ lead with the bat and we'll canter home. Pakistan batting doesn't look extraordinary and will struggle to chase over 225.

Saw this coming.Pakistan test batting post MisYou especially in UAE is so shaky they were excellent but in UAE they were colossal.Azhar has failed to step up as his the senior batsman after their departure in fact his returns have dimished while Asad continues to be Asad.

I think Enzed is marginally favourites at the moment since Pakistan has to bat last here with a shaky batting line up.
