I can't believe we have a test opener
Yeah, although Latham may face a yorker and short ball examination at some point that could get the more hawkish NZ fans on his case, itbt. At this stage I've only seen it attempted by Andy McKay, Nuwan Pradeep and Gavon Brown.

Honestly I'd take Papps in there with Latham at this point in time. The reason the Fulton selection wasn't bad is that even if he had massive technical flaws at least he was a guy who would cash in on flat wickets/crap bowling.

We now have a technically correct opener, a good 3 and 4, a potentially dangerous lower order and a good new ball attack. Just slot in a couple more pieces and we'll be good.

Yeah I'm liking this team, especially the fact that everyone's still got a lot of years in them.
yeah. It's quite interesting looking at the way Hesson has been moving pieces around. Not sure whether to think of him as a mastermind or just consider him lucky to have the young talent on show at the moment.

I think I'll give him credit because Anderson and Neesham weren't completely banging the door down with domestic form. I mean they were doing well, but it still would have been easy to pick domestic stalwart middle order batsmen.

If Sodhi comes off (I doubt it but it's possible) he will be looking pretty good.

That's a beauty from Rahat. The mirror image of the Southee reversing delivery to get Gayle in the first test in the Windies.
