Great to see a lot of people have turned up. So unusual for tests Pakistan plays, whether in Pakistan before or in UAE now. Friday factor plays a part but nevertheless, this series will be remember with much fondness by Pakistanis.

No way we're running through them on this deck. The only way we can win this game is getting close on the first innings and hope for a second innings miracle. Clarke genuinely may as well go ask Misbah how many he's after and then bowl waist high fullies and no-balls till he gets there. At least that would give us the most time to make some.

The idiot media who got all up in arms about the fielding positions would love that sort of game plan.

This must be the worst part of being a Test cricketer. Watching the grass grow while you're roasting in mid-40s heat, getting steadily ground down at three an over with the knowledge that the only respite is going to come from a declaration which is a long, long way away. And being wearily aware you'll be chasing the game for the next ten sets of two hours.

Enough to justify central contracts IMHO.
